Instagram Sensation Chloe The Mini Frenchie Dies Suddenly In NYC

Instagram star Chloe the Mini Frenchie, best known for her adorable outfits and poses on Instagram, died suddenly at the age of 4 after routine surgery. Loni Edwards, the devastated owner of Chloe the Mini Frenchie, posted a message for Chloe’s 180,000 Instagram followers, letting them know that the miniature French Bulldog had passed at a veterinary hospital in New York, reportedly as a result of medical error.

Chloe the Mini Frenchie gained popularity on Instagram under the account @Chloetheminifrenchie and was then established as a canine star, even making public appearances. Another dog of Instagram is Rosenberg, who often poses with his person, Topher Brophy. Brophy, who refers to his dog Rosenberg as his son, says that he started dressing like his dog and posting photos on Instagram for fun, but then he realized it made people smile. Brophy has been able to parlay the Instagram photos into a payday, as Samsung hired the two to appear in a commercial.

Topher Brophy says that the origin of dressing alike and posing for photos came about after people kept telling Brophy that he looked like his dog.

“Right after I adopted him, people kept telling us we looked alike. At first, we dressed in matching outfits as a joke. When we went outside, people made a huge fuss and it clearly brought smiles to their faces.”

Chloe the Mini Frenchie, whose photos brought happiness and a smile to anyone who visited her Instagram page, went in for a routine veterinary surgery and came through the procedure like a champ. Chloe’s owner then had Chloe transferred to BluePearl Veterinary Partners for overnight observation, where she died unexpectedly of medical error.

Loni Edwards shared her sadness at the loss of Chloe the Mini Frenchie on her Instagram page.

“We’re numb and heartbroken to share that Chloe has gone to heaven. she was perfectly healthy this morning when she went in for a routine procedure and did great with the surgery like the fighter she was. She [Chloe] was then brought to blue pearl in Chelsea for overnight observation for extra safety and the staff there erroneously directly attached the oxygen to her, the pressure of which blew out her lungs, lead to multiple cardiac arrests and ultimately killed her.”

Many breeds like Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, and Pugs struggle with breathing following procedures that require anesthesia, and so oxygen is often given preventatively, but obviously, something went wrong with Chloe.

Edwards continued sharing her message with fans of @Chloetheminifrenchie who follow Chloe daily.

“She fought so so hard to stay with us, but the fatal error was simply too much for our little nugget to overcome. Thank you for loving Chloe these past 4 years. She was an incredible pup and we’re going to miss her so so much.”

BluePearl acknowledges that something went wrong when Chloe was in their care and the Chelsea veterinary hospital has released a statement to Page Six.

“We are so very sorry for the loss of Chloe, a special dog who brought joy to thousands of people. This was a medical error that shouldn’t have happened.”

A spokesperson for BluePearl said that they are conducting an internal review to ensure that nothing like what happened to Chloe ever happens again.

Chloe the Mini Frenchie provided many people with some serious #lifegoals this summer as she took a European vacation. Chloe took a two-week jaunt this summer to Spain and Italy, and even sat in her own first-class seat on the plane. Chloe then headed out for drinks as her people sampled the local sangria and had quite a few days lounging on the white beach sand.

Chloe the Mini Frenchie will be missed by her many fans and followers.
