‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Tamara Braun Return Confirmed

General Hospital spoilers have been teasing a familiar face returning to Port Charles during November sweeps for a few weeks now. Fans have been anxiously guessing who would come back, and the answer has finally been revealed. There is plenty of excitement about this casting news, especially with Steve Burton being back at General Hospital. If the writers execute the addition perfectly, the ratings could skyrocket higher than they have been in years.

Tamara Braun’s name had been tossed around on a few occasions. She had been back to General Hospital once since her 2005 exit when she played one of the three Carlys for the 50th-anniversary episode. Fans loved seeing her back on the screen opposite Maurice Benard. According to Entertainment Weekly, Tamara Braun has confirmed she will be returning to General Hospital. Her first appearance will be November 22, and she is not coming back as Carly. Laura Wright is secure in the role, but hints suggest that she may be connected to Steve Burton’s return. It will take a little bit of an adjustment period for long-time “General Hospital” fans to get used to seeing both Tamara and Laura in Port Charles.

Details surrounding Tamara Braun’s new role aren’t being given yet. It has only been confirmed that she will not be playing Carly Corinthos. It is also unclear how long Braun will stick around General Hospital. No contract information has been released yet. There were hints of her return back in September, but confirmation of her return was just given. This could be a huge deal for General Hospital fans who were upset when Braun left, and the role of Carly was handed to Jennifer Bransford, who didn’t last long and was replaced by Laura Wright a little while later.

When she exited General Hospital in 2005, Tamara Braun didn’t jump back into the soap game for a few years. She eventually ended up on Days of our Lives on NBC, where she played Ava Vitali. In fact, Braun won an Emmy for her portrayal of Ava. You may also recognize her as Reese from All My Children, where she starred opposite Eden Riegel as Bianca’s wife. Braun has plenty of experience on soaps, and her return to General Hospital is really going to switch things up.
