Jill Duggar Finally Shares Clear Family Photo Of Baby Samuel

Jill Duggar just gave her Instagram followers their first good look at baby Samuel’s face in months. Fans are celebrating her sweet snapshot of the tyke posing with his older brother, but there’s been some disagreement over which of his family members Samuel resembles most.

On Wednesday morning, Jill shared an Instagram image of her 2-year-old son, Israel, holding his baby brother. The family photo gave Duggar fans a clear view of Samuel’s big blue eyes and upturned nose, and many of Jill’s followers were excited and relieved that she finally decided to give them an up-close visual update on the little boy. The last such photo was shared on August 9.

“Finally!!!!! A Sam pic!” wrote one fan.

“Oh my goodness! First really good look at Samuel. Cute!” another wrote.

According to Samuel’s proud mama, Israel often asks if he can hold his baby brother, who will turn 4-months-old next month. Fans have noted that Samuel is starting to resemble his parents more now that he’s a little bit older, but they can’t decide whether he looks more like a Duggar or a Dillard.

“O wow, Samuel look so alike mummy!” read one comment.

“Samuel looks more like your hubby and Israel more like you I think,” another opined.

A majority of commenters agreed that Samuel looks more like his father, Derick. However, there were also comparisons to his Aunt Jessa and Uncle James.

One of Jill Duggar’s followers asked her whether Samuel’s birth will be featured on Counting On, which is a question that has yet to be answered. The Counting On season finale aired on Monday night, and some viewers were disappointed that the season ended without showing any footage of baby Samuel’s birth. Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s baby boy was born on July 8, which is one month before Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell tied the knot. The young couple’s wedding episode served as the Counting On finale, so some fans believe that Samuel’s birth was intentionally skipped.

“I’m thinking the Dillards decided not to be a part of the show anymore (or TLC decided to take them off the show). Or maybe the show is just cancelling all together?” wrote one commenter on the Duggar Family Blog.

“Little Samuels birth was not covered, yet it was the reason the Dillards came home in the first place. Have TLC axed the Dillards from the show following Dericks twitter rants against a fellow TLC star and transgender people, something isn’t right?” another speculated.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard did make very brief appearances during Joseph and Kendra’s wedding special. However, some viewers may have noticed that Derick was not sitting on the same row as the other three men married to Duggar daughters, Ben Seewald, Jeremy Vuolo, and Austin Forsyth. As reported by People and referenced by the Duggar fan above, Derick attacked the transgender star of another TLC series a month before Joseph and Kendra walked down the aisle. In a tweet aimed at I Am Jazz star Jazz Jennings, a teen girl, Derick called transgender a “non-reality” and a “myth.” His tweets sparked an outpouring of outrage, so this is why some viewers are speculating that TLC is trying to distance itself from Derick.

TLC has not yet announced whether there will be another season of Counting On, so viewers will just have to wait and see whether Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s youngest son ever gets a chance to appear on TV.
