Blake Shelton Now Has A Clothing Line And Everyone Is Confused
Blake Shelton may have a very long list of talents as a singer, songwriter, and coach on NBC’s The Voice, but being a fashionista probably isn’t the first thing that springs to mind when fans think of the country star.
However, Shelton surprised his followers with a huge announcement on October 24 after he confirmed that he’s launching a brand new clothing line for Macy’s – and it’s safe to say fans of the “I’ll Name The Dogs” singer were left just a little confused.
Blake announced the pretty surprising news on social media by revealing that he’ll be launching his new line with an appearance in New York City in November. He urged fans to come and meet him at a meet and greet session to celebrate his new venture.
“I’m kicking off my new clothing line at @Macys Herald Sq. in NYC on 11/2!” Shelton tweeted alongside a photo of himself sporting his signature plaid shirt and blue jeans, which were likely pieces taken from his new clothing line. “Who’s in??”
But while his fans were definitely excited to see Blake making the move into the world of fashion, his big announcement was also met with a whole lot of confusion – and a little laughter – from his followers.
“Oh my god this is THE most funny thing I have ever seen for a while. Blake with a clothing line literally shocked,” Shelton fan @blakeishotaf tweeted. They then joked in a follow-up tweet, “If Blake can has a clothing line, you can do anything, it’s actually inspiring.”
“What the hell is happening?! Blake has a CLOTHING LINE? I have no words, only giggles,” @brieshefani then added of the country star making the move into the fashion world. “If up to him he’d wear the same 3 shirts every day. Literally the most randomly amazing thing I’ve seen in a while.”
“A @blakeshelton clothing line? WTH? Are you turning into a fru-fru fashionista on us?” Twitter user @Texas_Proud_MP then tweeted to Shelton, while another said, “I never thought @blakeshelton would plug a clothing line. Where’s the dude that just shows up in whatever? #imisstheoldblake.”
“A Blake Shelton clothing line?” @collinsjamiea tweeted in response to the news. “What’s next, Blake Shelton Perfume? Blake Shelton Hair Products? The Blake Shelton Diet? What happened to you?”
Others teased that Shelton’s girlfriend Gwen Stefani, who’s pretty famous for her unique style, more than likely had something to do with the country singer’s decision to make the move into the fashion world.
“BS with a clothing line? I smell [Gwen] behind this,” @FoxytailRedhead tweeted.
Though it’s not clear if Gwen really had anything to do with her boyfriend’s new business venture, Blake – who recently revealed that he wants his girlfriend back on The Voice with him – previously teased that he’s a big fan of Stefani’s style and her love of fashion.
The singer previously revealed during an appearance on Live with Kelly (now Live with Kelly and Ryan) last year that he always looks forward to seeing what fashion choices she’s going to make on a daily basis.
“It’s so fun to me to see what she wears every day. Everyday it’s like a different [person], like ‘Who is it going to be today?'” he said of Stefani on the morning show last year, joking that his country style of a plaid shirt, jeans and cowboy boots is “probably so boring for her.”
“You know, I’m going to have gray hair every day and I’m going to wear blue jeans and boots,” he then teased of his and Gwen’s drastically different styles.
