Corey Feldman Arrested: Fans Fear Drug Arrest Is Retribution For Threatening To Expose Pedophilia In Hollywood

Corey Feldman was arrested late on Saturday night and the timing of the incident has some fans wondering if the actor is being targeted for his vocal stance against child sex abuse in Hollywood.

Reports indicated that Feldman was arrested in Richland Parish, Louisiana, for one count of marijuana possession along with a traffic charge. Feldman was released without being booked into jail, The News Star reported. Though he was not in custody for long, the arrest caused Corey Feldman to miss a gig his band was scheduled to play at the Live Oaks Bar and Ballroom in Monroe, Louisiana.

The report noted that as many as six people, including other members of Feldman’s band, were also arrested in the same incident and some of them were booked in jail overnight.

Corey Feldman’s arrest came just days after he shared stories of sexual abuse of children that the actor claimed was rampant in Hollywood. Feldman has spoken for years about the abuse he suffered and witnessed other child stars endure, but his stories have been elevated in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

While Feldman has not given names of his abusers, the actor this week called on other members of Hollywood to step forward and speak out against pedophilia in the industry, People magazine noted. But Feldman reiterated that he would not be naming his own abusers, saying he feared that doing so could bring harm to members of his family.

“For the record, I will not be going on a talk show to disclose names of my abusers or anyone else’s abusers. So please stop asking me to do so,” Feldman wrote in a series of tweets. “The practice of sensationalizing this topic with no plan of action or protection for my family would prove fruitless. I have been through enough!”

“This is not about fear of being sued!” Feldman added. “Yes, that’s a real possibility. But the bigger reason is safety for my family.”

The timing of Corey Feldman’s arrest on Saturday — just days after he mentioned feeling threatened — had many fans questioning whether the actor is being intentionally targeted. Many took to social media to question the strange timing of his arrest.

Corey Feldman’s arrest will likely not lead to any jail time, however. The report from The News Star noted that his charge is a misdemeanor that only necessitates a fine.
