Sherin Mathews: Missing Girl Put Outside For Not Drinking Milk Seen In New Video Happy, Playful [Video]

Missing Richardson, Texas girl Sherin Mathews, 3, vanished over a week ago after her father says he put her outside in the middle of the night for not drinking her milk. New videos of the little girl have been released that show a happy, joyful child having fun at various gatherings.

A CBS DFW report indicates that Sherin weighed only 22 pounds when she disappeared and needed to be “fed constantly” in order to gain weight. Nevertheless, in the videos recently released of Sherin, she is seen “full of life.”

In one video she is colorfully dressed, playing at church behind what appears to be a glass pulpit. She playfully puts her hands on the glass as a woman’s voice is heard playing along with Sherin, saying, “Are you stuck?”

In another video, Sherin is wearing a festive black dress and seems to be high-fiving someone as she smiles and runs around.

In one video it appears to be Sherin’s birthday, and the tiny girl is seen standing on a chair and singing the song “Happy Birthday” along with her guests.

These videos, according to CBS DFW, were posted on a “public Facebook page” by “acquaintances of the Mathews family.”

Sherin was adopted from India and brought to Texas by Wesley Mathews and his wife Sini in the summer of 2016, according to the Times of India.

Wesley Mathews, 37, was arrested by Richardson Police not long after reporting the girl missing and was charged with endangering a child. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Mathews told police he took Sherin outside at around 3 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, and told her to stand close to a large tree located across an alley from the family’s backyard, reports CBS 19. Mathews alleges that around 15 minutes later he went to check on Sherin and she was gone.

The affidavit also notes that Mathews told police that coyotes have been seen roaming the alleyway near where he Sherin was standing.

Police state that Sherin was not reported missing until around 8 a.m., about five hours after her father claims she vanished.

The couple’s 4-year-old biological daughter was removed from the home by Child Protective Services. A spokesperson for the agency said CPS has had contact with the family in the past but did not offer further details, according to CBS DFW.

Richardson Police have announced that the Mathews’ 2013 maroon Acura MDX SUV was not at the residence an hour after Sherin disappeared. Authorities are asking residents and business owners that are located in the vicinity where the Acura could have traveled to review any surveillance video they have from Saturday, October 7 between the hours of 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. for images of the vehicle.

On October 8, Mathews posted $250,000 bond and was released from custody. As part of his release, Mathews is required to wear an electronic monitoring device and surrender his passport.

Richardson Police say Sherin suffers from developmental issues and her verbal communication skills are limited.

Sherin was last seen on October 7, 2017, wearing a pink long-sleeve top, black pajama bottoms, and pink flip-flop sandals. She is described as being an Asian female who weighs around 22 pounds and is approximately 3-feet in height. Sherin has black hair and brown eyes.

The Richardson Police Department is urging anyone with any information about Sherin or her whereabouts to call 972-744-4800.
