‘Dragon Ball Super’ Episode 112 Preview Breakdown: Vegeta Teaches Cabba What It Means To Be A True Saiyan

Dragon Ball Super Episode 112 would return the anime’s focus to the Saiyans in the Tournament of Power. As revealed in the recently aired DBS Ep 112 preview, next week’s episode would feature the Universe 6 Saiyans and Universe 7 veterans seemingly fighting side by side against a massive threat. If any, the NEP for next week’s episode seems to suggest that Vegeta would be taking on the role of mentor once more to his protege, Cabba.

The preview for Dragon Ball Super Episode 112 “A Saiyan’s Pledge! Vegeta’s Resolve!!” will air next week, according to DBS fan-translator Herms98. From what could be seen in the episode’s NEP, it would largely deal with Vegeta and Cabba’s teacher-student relationship, with the U7 veteran teaching the upstart U6 fighter what it really means to become a member of the proud warrior race.

Saiyans in DB lore are a warrior race that was unceremoniously wiped out by Frieza, possibly the most iconic villain in the classic Dragon Ball Z series. Back in DBZ canon, it was thought that there were only four pure-blooded Saiyans who survived the tragedy: namely Goku, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz. Nappa and Raditz were both killed off in Dragon Ball Z, while Vegeta went on to become Goku’s best friend and most reliable ally.

With the introduction of Dragon Ball Super, however, it was revealed that other Saiyans exist in Universe 6, which is Universe 7’s twin. The first Saiyan introduced to the new series was Cabba, who immediately took to Vegeta as his mentor. For the Tournament of Power, Cabba recruited Caulifla and Kale, two more Saiyans from Universe 6 and the first female members of the warrior race introduced in the franchise.

As shown in the NEP for Dragon Ball Super Episode 112, Vegeta would be backing up Cabba just as another threat emerges from Universe 4. According to the Ep 112 preview, Monna, a fighter from U4, would be growing in size and going on a rampage. In order to overcome this force, Vegeta and Cabba would be teaming up, as noted by Dragon Ball fans in the official /r/DBZ subreddit.

In true Vegeta fashion, however, it seems like the veteran would be training Cabba the same way he trains his son, Future Trunks. That is, Vegeta would be beating Cabba to a pulp. This would have its intended effect, however, as several scenes in the DBS Ep 112 NEP suggest that the two Saiyans would be able to overcome their foe.

Interestingly, the preview for next week’s episode also includes scenes of Goku in his base form standing back to back with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. Gohan and Piccolo are also shown seemingly battling it out against U6’s Namekian fighters.

The final scene of the Dragon Ball Super Episode 112 NEP was especially interesting, as it shows Frieza seemingly torturing Cabba. Exactly when this scene would happen in next week’s DBS episode remains unknown, though it all but proves that Cabba would be coming face to face with the very same monster that wiped out his race in Universe 7.

If the Saiyans’ history is any indication, however, Frieza’s involvement with Cabba’s on-the-spot training under Vegeta would have some interesting results. It wouldn’t even be too surprising if the young fighter ends up attaining another form because of his encounter with the notorious villain.

Dragon Ball Super airs every Sunday morning in Japan, and is available in the West through streaming services such as FunimationNow and Crunchyroll.
