Malcolm Applegate Hid In The Woods For Ten Years To Avoid Bad Relationship

Malcolm Applegate was in a relationship that he called controlling, so he decided to do something about it. Yahoo shared that this man decided to hide out in the woods, doing so for 10 years to avoid the relationship. You would think that breaking up with her would be a lot easier. He left his wife behind that he called “controlling” and didn’t return.

He actually left and lived in the woods for five years, but didn’t return again for 10 years total. He shared that he actually camped out in the thick woodland near Kingston. Malcolm actually maintained the gardens at a local community center for the elderly nearby, so he was working. He says that the problems were started because his wife didn’t like how much time he was spending gardening, so he left her and then ended up doing that for work.

Malcolm explained that she demanded that he cut down his hours, but he didn’t want to do it. He tried to stay in the marriage for a while, but then decided it was time to leave for good. He went out into the woods to live instead of just getting a divorce and moving on like most people would do. When he left, he went from Birmingham, U.K., to London on a bike. His bike was stolen and then he had to walk because of it. This trip took him about three weeks to do. He finally lived in a homeless shelter for a bit.

The crazy thing is, Malcolm Applegate had his family worried about him as well and didn’t even tell his sister where he was at until recently. He said that they have a great relationship again and she had been looking for him. There is no word yet on what his wife thinks about him living in the woods to avoid her. He is very happy now living in the homeless shelter and doing odd jobs for them to help out.
