Texas Whataburger Allegedly Refused Police Officers Service

Police officers in Texas were allegedly refused service at a Whataburger, according to MSN. The Texas police chief is now speaking out about the event, which allegedly went down early on Saturday. The night shift officers go to Whataburger when a lot of other places aren’t open for business.

Denison Police Chief Jay Burch, sharing the details on the department’s Facebook page, claimed that his employees went in the restaurant to eat and ended up being cussed at by a female employee who worked there. He shared that the manager at the restaurant only said, “I don’t get into politics.”

Burch went on to explain that if a business doesn’t want police officers to dine there, he would like for them to just let them know instead of cursing and causing a big scene about it. He went on to explain that there are not a lot of places open in the middle of the night that they can go to and eat, so this limits their options even more. He didn’t actually name the restaurant, but it has been named since then by various sources.

The two officers were later served by someone else working there. A supervisor did go there and speak to the employee, whose reason for not serving the officers was because “cops beat up my boyfriend and are racists,” according to Burch. Burch did say that this was just a routine arrest and they don’t seem to understand why she felt that way at all. It sounds like it may have just all been a misunderstanding.

Fox News shared that this employee was later fired for not serving the police officers. A Whataburger representative said the company plans to “speak with the other officers involved to apologize in person and make this right.” This is going to make everyone very happy as long as it doesn’t happen again.
