Ivanka Trump Admits Her Real First Name Isn’t Ivanka, It’s Ivana

One little factoid shared in Ivana Trump’s memoir, Raising Trump, can be confirmed by daughter Ivanka Trump, and that’s the mystery behind Ivanka’s real legal name, meaning the one on her birth certificate, and spoiler alert, it isn’t Ivanka. Though the revelation that Ivanka Trump has another name isn’t exactly earth-shattering news, there were other stories that have come out of Ivana Trump’s memoir, Raising Trump, that have raised eyebrows.

The big story that came out of Raising Trump was the suggestion that Ivana Trump is the real first lady, and that Donald Trump still uses her as his advisor “in secret.” Ivana Trump made a lot of statements in Raising Trump which suggested that she has a more important position in Donald Trump’s life than people (and his wife, Melania) know, and threw some shade at third wife Melania in the process.

“Melania is there and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or anything like that because I’m the first Trump wife. I’m the first lady, okay?”

Ivana Trump called Donald Trump’s second wife, Marla Maples, names while suggesting that if she was the actual first lady in the White House, everything would be under control.

“[I] would I straighten up the White House in 14 days? Absolutely. Can I give the speech for 45 minutes without [a] teleprompter? Absolutely. Can I read a contract? Can I negotiate? Can I entertain? Absolutely. But I would not really like to be there. I like my freedom.”

But the story about Ivanka Trump’s real name is a simple FYI story from Raising Trump. Donald Trump got to name his first child after himself, which is obviously Donald John Trump, Jr. Second child Ivanka was born Ivana Marie Trump, so she shares her mother’s name. In the Czech language, which is Ivana Trump’s native tongue, Ivanka is a diminutive of Ivana, so it’s “little Ivana” or Ivana, Jr.

In the past, Ivanka explained this in a tweet.

“My actual name is Ivana. In Czech, Ivanka is the baby name for Ivana, like Bobby is to Robert.”

While Ivanka Trump’s birth name isn’t exactly a scandal, Ivana Trump also shared a few other tidbits and thoughts about daughter Ivanka in her memoir, Raising Trump. First, Ivana Trump believes that it’s possible that Ivanka will succeed where Hillary Clinton failed in becoming the first female president.

“Who knows? One day, she might be the first female — and Jewish — POTUS.”

Ivana also has some strong opinions on the way the public has twisted the relationship of Ivanka and Donald Trump, by digging up old photos of Ivanka sitting on her father’s lap as a teenager.

“I thought it was totally unfair for the media to dig up old photos of them and distort their affection into something offensive.”

Ivana Trump shared that she also worries about Ivanka in a way that she doesn’t worry about her sons. Ivana says she is scared when Ivanka tries to “do it all.”

“I worry about how she’s going to do it all: be a mother, wife and White House staffer; adjust to her new house, new city and new schools for the kids; and take care of herself, too.”
