WWE Rumors: Women’s Elimination Chamber Match On The Way For PPV, Kurt Angle Suggests

The latest WWE rumors suggest that the women’s revolution in professional wrestling will see another first-time match. The latest women’s roster has already been involved in steel cage matches, table matches, a Kendo stick match, Money in the Bank ladder matches and a Hell in a Cell match. There are already rumors of a women’s Royal Rumble match, but now it appears that several of the women’s superstars may be competing inside the “Elimination Chamber.” While there’s yet to be an official announcement, one superstar, in particular, has given enough of a blessing that it seems it could be on the way.

The tease for the match came from a very brief answer given by current WWE Raw General Manager Kurt Angle. The WWE Hall of Famer was involved in a Facebook Q&A session according to Ringside News. One individual questioned why there has yet to be an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Raw Women’s belt. Angle suggested in his very short answer, “Patience. You will.” That’s all that’s necessary to often send the pro wrestling world into a frenzy on the internet and Angle’s suggestion seems in line with other rumors of the first-time women’s Royal Rumble match possibly happening early next year.

As for the Elimination Chamber match, most longtime fans know the situation. It’s a special structure built of steel which isn’t quite a steel cage or Hell in a Cell. It has a different overall shape and inside it are usually four pods. Each pod will keep a superstar locked inside until their time to enter the match happens. Meanwhile, the match starts out with two of the competitors able to go one-on-one. It basically works like a typical six-person elimination match where pinfalls and submissions are the only ways to be eliminated. It all continues until one competitor remains.

One would have to think that once again, this sort of match really suits the women’s competitors on SmackDown Live, though. However, the Raw women’s roster deserves credit and their time to shine as well. The fact that Asuka is joining the roster makes the concept of a women’s Elimination Chamber match that much more interesting. With competitors like Nia Jax and former Hell in a Cell match competitor Sasha Banks in it, the match could certainly work. If Alexa Bliss were a competitor, they could even draw heat for her by making her the last one to enter the match. Either way, the fans may get a treat in seeing this first-of-its-kind edition of the match.

All that said, the 2017 edition of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was a SmackDown Live exclusive event. The Elimination Chamber 2018 PPV has yet to get its official date or backing band, leaving some intrigue over this potential match and which women’s superstars might get to battle inside the structure.

WWE fans, who would you want to see from the women’s division as part of the Elimination Chamber match?
