WWE Rumors: UFC Star Conor McGregor Close To Deal With WWE For ‘WrestleMania 34’ Debut

There have been WWE rumors for months now involving the possibility of Conor McGregor joining WWE and now it seems closer to a reality than ever before. New reports have emerged suggesting that the Ultimate Fighting Championship star is very close to signing his deal with World Wrestling Entertainment to participate at next year’s WrestleMania 34 pay-per-view. Here’s the latest on the possibility of WWE snagging one of the biggest stars to cross over between MMA and WWE since Brock Lesnar.

According to The Sun UK, the mixed martial arts star is in talks with WWE, but a deal will likely be delayed until next year’s major pay-per-view. The WWE’s WrestleMania 34 is scheduled to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana. While McGregor might not headline the event, he would certainly make for a major attraction on “the grandest stage of them all.” If he’s added to the card, it brings the potential for MMA fans to watch the biggest professional wrestling pay-per-view of 2018 and could drive more views overall. As a source revealed, he grew up idolizing various stars including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is partly the reason McGregor is so flamboyant and talks trash a lot.

The source would go on to further explain why McGregor will ultimately decide to sign up with the WWE for a professional wrestling gig.

“These are the top dogs at self-promotion and trash talk. He watched these guys when he was younger.”

“This is something he’s always wanted to do.”

“The WWE guys have asked him to do shows before with them but the timing was never really right.”

“But this time it looks like a deal is going to be locked into place.”

There had been rumors for quite a while that McGregor might get a part in the WWE. Various superstars have commented on the notion including The Miz, Chris Jericho, and even WWE head honcho Triple H. There were even recent comments made by Stephanie McMahon praising Conor should he decide to join WWE. Most of them seemed to be on board with the idea of bringing the UFC star into the professional wrestling world due to his flamboyant and outspoken personality.

As far as who Conor McGregor would face at the big WrestleMania 34 event, that still seems to be under wraps. There are already rumors that Brock Lesnar will defend the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns. There are also those ongoing rumors of McGregor’s UFC pal Ronda Rousey taking part in WWE, so it should be interesting to see if both of these mixed martial arts stars will be featured on the WrestleMania card.

WWE fans, who do you want to see Conor McGregor go up against at the WrestleMania 34 pay-per-view?
