Possible Reason Why Sami Zayn Turned Heel, Helped Kevin Owens At ‘HIAC’ Revealed

Sami Zayn shocked the WWE Universe when he helped Kevin Owens defeat Shane McMahon at Hell in a Cell on Sunday. Many fans are wondering why Zayn, who is considered the ultimate babyface and underdog, turned heel. The latest updates have revealed the real reason why Sami helped his longtime rival beat his boss.

As recapped by WWE.com, Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon battled it out in a brutal Falls Count Anywhere Hell in a Cell Match on Sunday. Owens and McMahon put on a brutal show that contained a lot of risky moves that put the audience at the edge of their seats.

Shane was able to hit the Coast-To-Coast on Owens, but the action did not stop there as the SmackDown Live commissioner took the match outside the steel structure. The two superstars climbed atop the cell where Owens was able to hit the Popup Powerbomb on Shane. However, “Shane-O-Mac” retaliated by putting Owens through the announce table from the top half of the cage.

The SmackDown Live commissioner had the match won but he decided to punish Owens more by climbing back to the top of the cell. Shane went for the Leap of Faith but Sami Zayn pulled Owens at the last minute. Zayn then put Owens on top of Shane before forcing a referee to make the three-count.

According to Cageside Seats, one of the reasons why Sami Zayn turned heel and helped Kevin Owens is to build up a future feud with Shane McMahon and A.J. Styles. The WWE is reportedly interested in making the tag team match as one of the top storylines for Survivor Series next month. With John Cena, and possibly Brock Lesnar, out for the event, the company needed to create something that can get the fans talking.

Although nothing has been confirmed at the moment, A.J. Styles dropped some hints on the possible feud on Talking Smack. Styles was visibly upset with Sami Zayn, and he even offered help if Shane McMahon wants to get his revenge. The WWE even put it on their Twitter, so it is quite possible that the tag team match is in the works.

However, the timeline of Shane McMahon’s recovery is still unknown at the moment. Also, Styles has a rematch clause for the United States Championship. “The Phenomenal One” lost the U.S. Title to Baron Corbin on Sunday at Hell in a Cell.

Meanwhile, Sami Zayn has a lot of explaining to do this Tuesday on SmackDown Live. It will be intriguing to see how Zayn explains his actions since Kevin Owens has done a lot of brutal things to him in the past couple of years.
