Huge Update On John Cena, Possible Opponent At ‘Survivor Series’ Revealed

John Cena is currently on hiatus after losing to Roman Reigns at No Mercy September 24, and it even got people talking about a possible retirement. Cena has a budding career in Hollywood and many believe that his time as a WWE superstar is coming to an end. However, the latest updates have revealed that Cena is going to be back at Survivor Series and he will have a match.

According to The Wrestling Observer (h/t What Culture), John Cena is not retiring and he is just filming two Hollywood movies, The Pact and the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee. The report added that the WWE is preparing Cena for a big match at WrestleMania 34, possibly against The Undertaker. It’s one of the reasons why the 40-year-old superstar will have a match at Survivor Series.

Some of the rumored plans for John Cena at Survivor Series include captaining his own team or becoming a part of Roman Reigns’ team. Reigns was put over by Cena at No Mercy, even going as far as saying that “The Big Dog” has become the man. Cena could also just have a one-on-one match at Survivor Series to make him look strong after a clean loss to Reigns.

Cageside Seats is reporting that John Cena will be having a short program with Bray Wyatt for Survivor Series. This means that Wyatt is going to end his current feud with Finn Balor, and Cena is returning much earlier than expected to help in the buildup. However, there are going to be some fans questioning what is going to happen with Wyatt and Balor.

The report noted that Finn Balor is expected to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. So if that scenario is going to happen, Wyatt will have to lose to Balor once again, and he gets screwed again by the WWE creative team. Fans are going to complain about Wyatt’s booking because he is going to be used to make Cena strong.

John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt is somewhat of a fresh story, but it’s not the first time they are going to lock horns. Cena and Wyatt feuded in 2014, and they even had a series of matches at WrestleMania 30, Extreme Rules, and Payback.

It should be pointed out that this is just purely speculative at this point. Plans tend to change and the WWE are surely going to look at all of their options. Fans are more appreciative of John Cena, and many are certainly excited about his possible return to Survivor Series.
