Wynn Resorts’ Matt Maddox Named Highest Earning Executive Under 40

In the nice work if you can get it category, Wynn Resorts’ CFO Matt Maddox has been named the highest earning executive under 40 at a public company.

The Forbes list found that Matt Maddox is raked in a handy $17.66 million in 2008, based on a base salary of $593,590, stock options worth more than $11 million, and stock awards worth more than $5 million.

Maddox joined Wynn Resorts in 2002 as head of financial operations for the firms Macau resorts, and has quickly climbed the greasy pole to become the CFO of the company, where he now oversees Wynn’s entire cash flow.

On Tuesday Maddox reported that Wynn Resorts (WYNN) net income fell 33 percent to $34.2 million, or 28 cents per share, for the period ended Sept. 30, down from $51.2 million, or 49 cents per share, a year ago.
