CNN Anchor Erin Burnett Gets Married At New York City Hall

New York City — CNN achor Erin Burnett got hitched to longtime boyfriend David Rubulotta, a Citigroup executive, yesterday in a low-key City Hall ceremony.

The couple, who became engaged in September 2011, were married by a justice of the peace.

Burnett, 36, met Rubolotta, 42, on a blind date about eight years ago.

They celebrated afterwards at a reception at the Atlantic Grill. People magazine reports that Burnett took a hands-on approach to the reception:

“As for the party, Burnett planned it herself, and she included many holiday-themed touches such as a classical guitarist playing Christmas carols. ‘Christmas is our favorite time of year,’ Burnett said. ‘We thought it would be the perfect time to get married.’ ”

” ‘I was overflowing with joy to have those I love together,’ she said of the reception.”

For those of you who are keeping track, People reports that she wore a red dress to the City Hall ceremony and a gold, floor-length beaded gown to the reception.

Formerly an anchor at CNBC from 2005 to 2011, Erin Burnett jumped to CNN to host OutFront in October 2011 which currently airs at 7 pm Eastern time. She had previously worked on the staff of CNN’s Moneyline before getting the CNBC gig.

There is buzz, however, that new CNN boss Jeff Zucker could shift Burnett to the CNN morning schedule to boost the network’s poor ratings, although CNN’s evening schedule is also severely ratings challenged. Burnett began her career as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.
