Claire Danes Welcomes New Baby Boy Cyrus


Actress Claire Danes has a new little bundle of joy to celebrate as she welcomes the birth of her new baby boy.

An article on Today reports that the actress and her husband Hugh Dancy experienced the birth of their first child on December 17, 2012. The newest little member of their family has been named Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy.

According to US Magazine, the 33-year-old Emmy winning actress and Hugh Dancy, 37, have been married for close to three years. The couple met in 2006 on the set of the drama Evening before exchanging vows in 2009.

Earlier this summer, the couple made the announcement that the actress was expecting. Danes continued work on the popular Showtime drama series Homeland throughout her pregnancy.

The actress portrays Carrie Mathison, a rogue CIA officer, in her role on the hit show. The pregnancy was not written into the drama but Danes was able to conceal her growing belly from viewers on-screen.

Coincidentally, baby boy Cyrus made his first appearance into the world the day following Homeland‘s successful second season finale.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Danes has not confirmed if she will attend the Golden Globe awards ceremony on January 13. The actress has garnered Globe nominations for her work on Homeland.

Next up for Hugh Dancy is a role in the NBC network series Hannibal. Created by Bryan Fuller, the show is about creepy villain Hannibal Lector, a character best known from the movie thriller Silence of the Lambs.
