Sega AM2 Collection Gets A New Trailer [Video]

Although the games have been available on both Xbox LIVE Arcade and the Playstation Network for few weeks, Sega has released a new trailer for its AM2 Collection.

According to Cinema Blend, the collection contains such acclaimed and forgotten brawlers as Fighting Vipers, Virtua Fighter 2, and Sonic The Fighters. The games were originally released during the Sega Saturn’s heyday.

As an avid fighting game fanatic, I was particularly impressed with Fighting Vipers. Although it may look a little antiquated by today’s standards, the game is accessible as well as challenging. Virtua Fighter 2, on the other hand, really needs no introduction.

Sonic the Fighters is the one game in the Sega AM2 Collection I’m not overly familiar with. According to GamersHell, the fighter allowed players to battle their way through a series of stages as one of their favorite Sonic characters. If you’ve ever wanted to deliver Tails a hedgehog-sized beatdown, then this is the game for you.

Sega is offering the aforementioned collection to fighting game enthusiasts for only 400 MS Points a piece. That’s boils down to about $5 per game. Given the sheer amount of pocket change I spent on Virtua Fighter in my youth, a fiver sounds like a pretty good bargain.

In addition to the AM2 Collection, Sega is also offering up several bundles loaded with some of the company’s forgotten titles. The Sega Vintage Collections gives players an opportunity to enjoy games from the Alex Kidd, Golden Axe, and Toe Jam & Earl franchises.

The company isn’t above mining past glories in an effort to make some extra scratch. Sega also released HD remakes of Jet Set Radio Future and Virtua Fighter 5 earlier this year.
