WWE, Hire Heroes USA Announce Partnership


WWE and Hire Heroes USA have entered a partnership that will help benefit veterans. The announcement was made today in a press release via Business Wire.

According to the release, Hire Heroes USA is an organization that serves veterans through personalized, customized job search training and assistance. World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. will be helping to boost awareness for the group using TV broadcasts, social and digital media, and live events. WWE also plans to make a donation in support of Hire Heroes USA’s mission.

The press release states that the partnership will work to implement a veterans hiring initiative. In the previous two years, Hire Heroes USA have helped over 600 veterans attain employment. The release goes on to say:

“In 2012 almost 2,000 new veterans registered for Hire Heroes USA assistance and nearly 400 more were helped at two-day workshops focused on providing assistance to wounded, ill, or injured service members.”

The annual holiday special WWE Tribute to the Troops will feature the new partnership. The special will air Wednesday on USA Network with an additional airing Saturday on NBC. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the show.

Along with its Tribute to the Troops events, WWE also makes “regular visits to military bases, hospitals and fundraisers that support military personnel and their families.” The media organization also shows has a Tickets for the Troops program. WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said the following:

“WWE has a long history of supporting our armed forces because we are extremely grateful for the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes. It is an honor for us to partner with Hire Heroes USA and support programs that will help our veterans.”
