Eddie Redmayne Circles Mila Kunis And Channing Tatum In ‘Jupiter Ascending’

It looks like Les Miserables is creating fantastic opportunities for its cast. While Hathaway is making the rounds for awards season, as is, Hugh Jackman, there’s another player to look out for and that’s the newcomer Eddie Redmayne.

Redmayne, who got traction last year opposite Michelle Williams in My Week With Marilyn, has stole hearts by playing lovelorn Marius in Les Miserables. Now it appears to be that Hollywood has come knocking on his door. According to Variety, Redmayne has been tapped to discuss the possibility of having a role opposite Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis in Jupiter Ascending. The Sci-Fi film, is said to be one of the most interesting and complex films by the Cloud Atlas directing duo of Andy and Lana Wachowski.

In May Vulture revealed details about the plot of Jupiter Ascending:

“The first entry in a trilogy, centers on an unlikely heroine: A recent Russian immigrant — played by actual Ukrainian immigrant Mila Kunis — who is busily scrubbing toilets for a living. Unbeknownst to her, she actually possesses the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe and is therefore a threat to her otherwise immortal rule. A bounty hunter of the evolved-being type is dispatched to dispose of the Cleaning Lady with the Great Pair of Nucloetides, but, as you’d expect with a Matrix re-dux, they fall in love.”

So far details about who Redmayne will play are unknown at this point, but with this involved plot, and the reputation of the Wachowski’s, it’s sure to be the opportunity and role of a lifetime for Eddie. Early reports also had Joseph Gordon-Levitt in talks, but it’s unknown whether or not that’s now Redmayne’s bag, or if he’s still considering going out for a role.

Only time will tell on this one. Jupiter Ascending is said to start filming sometime in the beginning of 2013.
