Rosie O'Donnell and wife Kelli Carpenter may be heading for a divorce after O'Donnell refused to confirm that they were still both together.
O'Donnell and Carpenter married in San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's office in February 2004, despite state law at the time forbidding same sex marriages. Newson said at the time that his mayoral responsibility not to discriminate trumped state law, and the City of San Francisco issued a wedding certificate two weeks later.
In an interview with USA Today, O'Donnell would only say that "Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues. Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties."
A rep for O'Donnell would only add that "They are a family and will remain a family forever and are working through their issues ... nothing else will be said."
Rosie O'Donnell and Kelli Carpenter have three adopted children - Parker, 14, Chelsea, 12 and Blake, 9.
