Hugh Grant Banned For Life From ‘The Daily Show’

Jon Stewart recently revealed that romantic comedy veteran Hugh Grant has been banned for life from The Daily Show, according to the New York Daily News.

During their appearance at a fund raiser for the Montclair Film Festival in New Jersey, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert discussed Grant’s antics on the show while promoting his failed 2009 endeavor Did Your Hear About the Morgans?

“He’s giving everyone s**t the whole time, and he’s a big pain in the a**,” Stewart told Colbert, adding that Hugh Grant was his least favorite guest in the history of the program.

“And we’ve had dictators on the show,” Stewart remarked.

Today reports the actor went as far as to hassle Stewart’s staff and openly complain about the clip the studio provided for Did You Hear About The Morgans?

“What is that clip? It’s a terrible clip,” Grant grumbled.

“Well, then make a better f**king movie,” Stewart responded.

Since the whole experience left a seriously bad taste in the Daily Show host’s mouth, he effectively banned Grant from ever setting foot on the show again.

Not surprisingly, the actor has yet to comment on Stewart’s remarks.

During his conversation with Stephen Colbert at the Wellmont Theatre, Jon Stewart revealed that he almost quit The Daily Show shortly after he signed on to host the program. The comedian said he wasn’t greeted with the warmest welcome on his first day.

“What I did not realize is, a lot of people who worked there were a**holes,” Stewart said. “I had, before taking [the job], some conversations with the powers that be there about the direction I thought we could move the show.”

He added, “The first thing they say is ‘This isn’t some MTV bulls**t.’ And then I was told not to change the jokes or improvise.”
