For National Ice Cream Day, McDonald’s isn’t giving away golden tickets, but the golden arches ice cream cone. National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, July 16, 2017, an annual celebration. This Sunday, those who download the McDonald’s app will be entitled to one free, vanilla soft serve ice cream cone. The free deal will be available nationwide at all stores but is only accessible via the app. One guest will receive the golden arches cone that will enable them to win a free vanilla soft serve for life.
McDonald’s regularly offers their customers deals, but this one is definitely getting a lot of social love. You can follow the social media campaign surrounding National Ice Cream Day and McDonald’s free ice cream cone and free ice cream for life with the hashtags #Nationalicecreamday, #icecreamday and #softserved. Though McDonald’s will give away free ice cream all day Sunday, the golden arches cone will be given away some time between 2 and 5 p.m. McDonald’s announced the free ice cream deal and golden arches giveaway via a press release.
The #softserved promotion hit Twitter a little earlier than usual as it seems McDonald’s wants to get the word out. People are already using the hashtag and downloading the McDonald’s app in preparation for National Ice Cream Day. The McDonald’s app is available for free download in both the Apple and Google Play stores.
