Jill Duggar And Derick Dillard Get Baby Congrats From Joy-Anna, Israel Is Staying With His Grandmother

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard still haven’t shared an update on their new baby boy, but the Counting On stars did recently get another congratulatory video from one of Jill’s siblings.

Jill Duggar, 26, and Derick Dillard, 28, welcomed their second child on July 8, and they’ve only shared one photo of the baby boy since his arrival. It was accompanied by a short blog post saying Samuel Scott Dillard was delivered at the hospital via C-section after 40 hours of labor. Jill hasn’t posted anything on social media since his birth, but Derick did take to Instagram to reassure fans that she and “baby Sam” are doing well. He also revealed that he and his wife will eventually share more photos of the infant on their website.

While fans impatiently await the promised pictures and more details on Samuel’s birth, the Duggars are making sure that they keep their devoted followers excited about the new arrival by filming special messages for Jill and Derick. Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, and Austin Forsyth, 23, starred in the latest congratulatory video, which the Duggars shared on their family Facebook page.

“Congratulations, Jill and Derick, we are so happy for ya’ll,” Austin says in the 15-second YouTube video.

“We are so excited,” adds Joy-Anna.

“Samuel is so adorable, and we will be praying that he’ll grow up to be a man of God and a strong leader. Love you guys so much.”

Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, has had babies on the brain ever since she began courting her future husband, 23-year-old Austin Forsyth. During the most recent episode of Counting On, viewers learned that she and Austin started talking about their family plans before they were even engaged, and they decided that they want to have as many kids as God will bless them with.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard have said the same thing about how many children they want to have, but Jill’s harrowing birth experiences are starting to make fans wonder whether she’ll be forced to stop at just two kids. As the Inquisitr previously reported, there’s speculation that she hasn’t appeared in any post-birth photos with Samuel because she’s recovering from a hysterectomy. She’s had two C-sections in a row, and the Guardian reports that women who have had a C-section face a “significantly increased” risk of needing a hysterectomy after their next birth.

Derick recently took to Twitter to thank Cross Church College Pastor Brian Mills for praying for his family, which may be a sign that mom, baby, or both are still receiving medical attention.

Derick Dillard’s mother, Cathy Byrum, has also dropped a hint that her daughter-in-law might still be at the hospital. On Wednesday evening, she revealed that she was going to spend the next day keeping an eye on Jill and Derick’s two-year-old son, Israel. She tweeted that she was drinking a protein shake so that she’d have the energy to keep up with the toddler, and she also said that she was getting her handheld vacuum ready for her grandson’s visit. Cathy didn’t respond to her Twitter followers’ questions about Jill Duggar or Samuel Scott.

It’s possible that everyone is staying tight-lipped about how Jill Duggar and her baby boy are doing because they plan on giving fans an update on the July 17 episode of Counting On. According to TV Guide, it’s titled “The After Show Part 1.” The TLC special’s description says that it will be hosted by Daphne Oz and that it “digs deeper into the season’s most significant moments, including courtships, weddings, and births.”
