Why Isn’t Christina Aguilera Returning For ‘The Voice’ Season 13? New Album & MTV Vanguard Award Rumors Swirl
Christina Aguilera used to appear on every other season of The Voice but for over a year, she hasn’t been seen at all.
Although Christina Aguilera hasn’t been featured on the show since Season 10 and won’t be seen on the show’s upcoming 13th season, a new report claims she will reportedly be making her career comeback with a new album in the coming months.
“The reason she hasn’t returned to be a mentor on The Voice as of late is so she can put all her focus on her comeback,” a source told Hollywood Life on July 12.
The outlet also noted that fans online have been speculating about the possibility of Christina Aguilera receiving the 2017 MTV Vanguard Award. While nothing of the sort has been confirmed quite yet, the potential situation would certainly be a great opportunity for the “Fighter” singer to debut some of her new music.
According to Hollywood Life, Christina Aguilera recently added MTV’s official Twitter account to her list of just 24 accounts she follows and has been teasing new music for several months.
Although Christina Aguilera has not yet confirmed if and when she will release a new album, the source went on to reveal that she is reportedly hoping to have a new album available to her fans by the holidays.
As for Christina Aguilera’s possible return to The Voice, it doesn’t sound like her rumored schedule will be permitting of a return to the NBC singing competition. After all, as the insider explained, Christina Aguilera is hoping to go on tour next year.
As Christina Aguilera focuses on her family, which includes fiancé Matt Rutler and her two children, 9-year-old son Max and 2-year-old daughter Summer, her former co-stars, including Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Miley Cyrus, are preparing to welcome new coach Jennifer Hudson to the show.
Before her Season 10 exit from The Voice, Christina Aguilera had been alternating seasons with fellow coach Gwen Stefani, who began dating Blake Shelton in late 2015 while filming the show’s ninth season. Since then, Stefani has returned for Season 12 but won’t appear on the show’s 13th season.
