Maci Bookout Offers Ryan Edwards Rehab Update, Mom Shares New Photo On Instagram
Is Maci Bookout planning to file for custody of her eight-year-old son Bentley due to her former boyfriend’s drug use?
As fans saw on Teen Mom OG Season 6B, Bookout met with a counselor to discuss taking custody from Ryan Edwards, but after Edwards agreed to get help for his substance abuse struggles in rehab, the issue has seemingly been put to rest.
While Maci Bookout recently admitted that she didn’t realize the severity of Ryan Edwards’ drug use until she saw it play out on the MTV reality show, she doesn’t appear to have any plans to take custody of Bentley from her former boyfriend. Instead, she will continue to monitor the situation and keep her son’s best interest in mind.
On July 11, Radar Online shared a report regarding Maci Bookout’s comments on a recent Ask the Moms special on MTV and revealed that the longtime reality star and mother of three felt relieved when she found out about Ryan Edwards’ stint in rehab. Maci Bookout also confirmed that Ryan Edwards is “where he needs to be” after receiving treatment for substance abuse.
While Ryan Edwards’ current location remains unknown, his mother, Jen Edwards, recently shared a photo of the reality dad spending time with his father and enjoying a game of corn hole.
Radar Online went on to reveal that while Maci Bookout had previously discussed the option of taking custody of Bentley from her former partner, she was only planning to follow through with the idea if he refused to get help for his addiction.
“I’m going to do my best to not discourage him, but also keep my child safe,” she explained.
Although Ryan Edwards appeared to be enjoying family time over the weekend, his son Bentley wasn’t seen. Instead, the reality star spent time with his parents and step-son Huddle, who can be seen below.
Before entering rehab in May, Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer tied the knot. Standifer shares one son with her former husband and Edwards has just one child as well.
