Eminem New Album Almost Done: Dr. Dre Is Producing A Track, 2 Chainz Has Recorded A Song With ‘Rap God’ Rapper

Eminem has been keeping details of his new album under wraps, but new hints have been dropped, giving fans hope that this highly-anticipated new album is almost done.

It’s no surprise if Dr. Dre gets involved, but it has been confirmed by The Defiant Ones director, Allen Hughes, that Dre is currently working with the “Rap God” rapper for his upcoming album.

In a fresh interview with UpRoxx, Hughes talked about the HBO documentary, The Defiant Ones, which focuses on music titans Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. Eminem happens to make an appearance in the documentary so the subject on his new album was brought up.

In the interview, Hughes gave fans a look into Dr. Dre’s life and how he has transitioned from a hip-hop artist to a businessman. The director confirmed that Dre is still active in the music scene. In fact, he is producing a track for Eminem’s new album at the moment.

“Dre still records. People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album.”

Eminem himself has already confirmed that he’ll be releasing an album soon. He made the announcement on social media sometime in October 2016. However, the iconic rapper hasn’t given substantial updates since and fans have been eagerly waiting for news and of course, the release of the new album.

Besides Hughes and Eminem, rapper 2 Chainz recently confirmed that a new album is in the works and that he is part of it. Rumors of 2 Chainz’s participation started a couple of weeks ago when he uploaded a photo of him with Eminem on Instagram.

Over the weekend, the “4 AM” rapper talked to DJ Drama on Shade 45’s radio show, Streetz Is Watchin’, saying that he had recorded with Eminem after D-12’s Denaun Porter made a call. Initially, 2 Chainz didn’t like the idea since he was asked to do a hook and alibis.

2 Chainz went to Rick Rubin’s house to meet up with Eminem where the “Slim Shady” hitmaker offered him a spot on the remix. The “We Own It” rapper then suggested that Em should just make him a featured artist in the original track instead of the remix.

Eminem’s upcoming album will be his first full-length studio album since 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Are you looking forward to this new album? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
