’90 Day Fiance’ Update: Paola Fires Back At Critics, Defends Controversial Actions Against Russ On Instagram

The recently aired episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? was quite difficult to watch, especially for fans of Paola and Russ. While visiting his wife in Miami, Russ found himself in the middle of an awkward meeting with Paola and her friend, Juan, who made his dislike of the Oklahoma-based field engineer very evident.

Eventually, Juan upped the ante, throwing ad hominem attacks at Russ, even criticizing him for his looks at one time. To the shock of many viewers and avid fans of the hit reality TV show, Paola did nothing to stop her friend, seemingly even agreeing with Juan at some points. Fed up with the insults and his wife’s lack of support, Russ eventually walked out, much to Paola’s anger.

Needless to say, the 90 Day Fiance community was aghast at the way Paola handled Juan’s insults at her husband, with numerous viewers and avid fans of the TLC series stating that the Colombian beauty ultimately failed in being a supportive wife. According to Paola’s critics on online forums such as Reddit, it should be the responsibility of a wife to defend her husband’s integrity against personal attacks. Some even went so far as to state that Juan failed as a true friend, seeing as he was deliberately trying to cause troubles in Russ and Paola’s marriage.

While the 90 Day Fiance community does have a very valid point, Paola has begged to differ. In a recent post on Instagram, Paola vented her frustration and defended her actions at the hit reality TV show’s online community, arguing that fans know very little of her struggles back in Oklahoma. Apart from this, Paola also stated that she was a victim of personal attacks in the past as well and that Russ was not much help to her then, either.

“Here is another pictures (sic) so you can keep insulting me. But first, I want to ask you something. Do you know the whole story back in Oklahoma? Do you know how my life was back there 24/7? Do you know I haven’t seen my family/friends in 3 years? Do you know I didn’t have friends or family in Oklahoma? Have you ever seen my husband backing me up when nasty people come to my account daily to insult me because they ‘think’ they are better than me?

“So much you don’t know! But don’t you worry guys, I will keep posting more photos so you can keep talking s** about me. At (sic) the end, I know who I am, and I know my relationship BETTER than all of you. I’m not going to turn off the comments because I know that I have amazing, smart and loving followers. #cheersforyouguys

“Do you think insulting me makes you look better than me? Lmao! Doesn’t make you look better than my friend @juan_a_palacio.”

Paola’s Instagram update has managed to gain more than a thousand likes in less than two hours, with most of the aspiring model’s followers supporting her stance on the issue. Nevertheless, several commenters in Paola’s recent upload still maintained that she should have handled Juan’s insults to her husband a lot better.

Paola and Russ have always been one of the most likable stars on 90 Day Fiance. Since appearing on Season 1, the pair had maintained a relatively healthy relationship. While the couple had many fights in the past, Paola and Russ have remained steadfast. If the recently aired episode is any indication, however, it appears that the couple might very well be heading towards a new, very bumpy road.
