‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Serena Baldwin Is Back And She Is All Grown Up, Carly Schroeder Reprises Role
General Hospital is bringing back an old favorite character, only she is now all grown up. Serena Baldwin will be returning to Port Charles this week! It was certainly a nice surprise for fans of the ABC soap. Many rumors have been swirling over the past year that original actress, Carly Schroeder, would be reprising her role as Scott Baldwin and Lucy Coe’s daughter, and it is finally happening.
Soap Opera Digest confirmed the exciting news of Carly’s return. What brings her back to her hometown right now? Serena is expected to be back for her grandfather’s memorial service. Lee Baldwin was a well-loved character on GH. Longtime General Hospital actor, Peter Hansen, passed away in April of this year at the age of 95, and the show will be paying tribute to him on July 14. Everyone will be gathering to honor both the character and the actor who played him for years.

Carly Schroeder’s return is exciting and two of her co-stars couldn’t be more thrilled to have her back. Her TV parents, Lynn Herring and Kin Shriner, took to social media to express their happiness. Herring told Soap Opera Digest that she and Kin had been rooting for their TV daughter to return to General Hospital.
“It was just amazing to have Carly back with us. It’s something Kin and I had wanted for a long time and I know the fans did, too. I’m excited for them to see it!”
The announcement is a special surprise, especially for longtime viewers who remember her as a little girl on the ABC daytime drama. For anyone who doesn’t remember Serena’s backstory on General Hospital, she was born by way of a surrogate. Her biological mother, Dominique, was married to Scotty, but she developed brain cancer and was given just a short time to live. Lucy Coe stepped up to become a surrogate to carry their child. Unfortunately, Dominique died before the baby was born, and Scott and Lucy co-parented Serena her whole life.

It will be interesting to see how Serena interacts with Lucy and Scott now that she is all grown up. Her dad is in a bit of a pickle right now with being involved in Ava Jerome’s mess. Will Serena find out that Scott helped Ava cover up her part in Morgan Corinthos’ death?
Lucy had warned Scott that their daughter would not be happy with them if they did something shady. However, Lucy isn’t exactly innocent in her dealings with Ava either.
There is no confirmation yet if Carly will only be on air for the funeral or if she will be hanging around for a bit longer. Many General Hospital fans have been dishing on social media on the romantic possibilities if she should stick around Port Charles for a while. Michael Corinthos has been mentioned quite frequently. She could give his current girlfriend, Nelle Hayes, a run for her money.
