‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 6: Possible Release Date And Things To Expect

Will there be a Season 6 of Orange is the New Black? The answer is yes. Netflix has already renewed OITNB for two more seasons before Season 5 was released; therefore, there will be plenty of Litchfield inmates to binge-watch in the future. While there has not been an official release date, the sixth season will likely air in June 2018. With an early renewal, the upcoming season will probably be released on schedule.

Orange is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan has considered ending the series after its seventh season but also revealed the hit series could go on much longer. Piper Chapman has been in prison for about 10 months of an 18-month sentence in the series and Season 5 only covered three days of jail time.

The finale left many questions going into Season 6 and here are some things fans can expect. In Season 6, Daya could face serious charges over Humphrey’s death, although it was Kukudio that killed him.

With Crazy Eyes present, Kukudio created air bubbles in Humphrey IV bag, which caused his stroke and ultimate death. The prisoners of Litchfield could be split into two prisons in Season 6 of Orange is the New Black. Due to the violence in the riot, some inmates may also end up in a maximum security prison, which will be an interesting twist.

There will also be some reaction or repercussions for Piscatella’s death from inmates and the prison review board respectively. Lorna has a baby on the way and her relationship with Vinny and Nicky will develop in the upcoming season.

Tiffany Doggett and Chang managed to escape during the riot using the hole Maria Ruiz created to help some of the hostages escape. They will likely be recaptured, and it seems like Doggett will turn herself in as she is dating a prison guard.

Some cast members that did not appear in Season 5 may return, such as Lolly and Healy. Some other inmates in maximum security may appear at any time when the dust from the riot settles.

It is unclear whether Caputo’s job is at stake or MCC will take the fall for the riot and the conditions at the prison.

There are many cliffhangers leading into Orange is the New Black Season 6.
