Milo Ventimiglia Turns 40: Papa Pearson Gets Birthday Greetings From Mandy Moore And His ‘This Is Us’ Family

Milo Ventimiglia has turned the big 4-0, and he’s wearing it well. Ventimiglia, who plays patriarch Jack Pearson on NBC’s hit drama This Is Us, turned 40-years-old on July 8. And while the actor joked that he is now over the hill, This is Us fans would happily keep him at that age because they know what the future holds for his character on the NBC drama.

In honor of his milestone birthday, Milo Ventimiglia’s TV wife, Mandy Moore, posted a sweet birthday message to him on Twitter.

“Happiest Birthday to the greatest TV husband in all the land!” Moore wrote to Milo. “We are so lucky to know you and be in your orbit!”

This isn’t Mandy Moore’s first birthday message for Milo Ventimiglia. The day before Ventimiglia’s big day, Moore shared a personal message to her This Is Us co-star with Today.

“Mi! Happy birthday!” the actress said. “Oh my goodness, I’m excited to see you soon and get back to work. You are the best — you know how much I love and adore you and I hope that this year brings everything you want. You deserve it all. And, I can’t wait to celebrate with you in person. Happy, happy birthday.”

In addition to Mandy’s birthday greeting, Milo Ventimiglia received a video message from his young co-star Mackenzie Hancsicsak. Mackenzie, who plays a 10-year-old version of Kate Pearson on This Is Us, sang the birthday song to her TV dad.

Milo Ventimiglia thanked his friends and fans for their birthday greetings and posted a photo of himself wearing an “Over the Hill” hat. Milo said he has been waiting 40 years to wear the hat and that it “fits real nice.”

But Sterling K. Brown, who plays grown up Randall Pearson on the show, told his TV “dad” he’s not over “nothing” and is just getting started.

Milo Ventimiglia did not reveal how he is spending his 40th birthday, but it may be hard for him to top some of his past favorite birthday celebrations. In an interview posted by W Magazine, Milo revealed that he had three favorite birthdays in the past. Ventimiglia said when he turned 21, he skipped the bar scene and instead spent the night alone at a hotel, eating pizza and watching movies. When he turned 12, Milo said he had a Batman-themed party, “old school, Michael Keaton Batman.”

But one of Milo Ventimiglia’s favorite ways to spend his special day came last year when he turned 39. Milo said he was surrounded by people who impacted his life in a positive way — and that sounds a lot sweeter than cake, ice cream, and presents.
