‘Star Wars Rebels’ Season 4 Rumor: Ahsoka Dies After All?

Fans already know that Ahsoka Tano will make her big comeback in Star Wars Rebels Season 4. It is yet to be detailed exactly how, but series creator Dave Filoni provided an exciting hint.

Filoni took to Twitter to reveal that Ahsoka briefly met the ancient being Bendu at the end of the Star Wars Rebels Season 2 episode, “The Mystery of Chopper Base,” specifically before she went to Malachor with Kanan and Ezra for their fated mission.

Bendu, a Force-neutral being with vast knowledge, showed uncertainty as to what would become of Ahsoka. Here is how the unseen Star Wars Rebels encounter goes.

Bendu: You are set on this confrontation then?

Ahsoka: I have to know the truth.

Bendu: So be it, but understand this, much will change as a result of this encounter, including you.

Ahsoka: Isn’t that true of all things, as time advances?

Bendu: My dear, when I say change, I mean death.

Ahsoka: So I will die?

Bendu: Will you? I didn’t know that. Goodbye then, Ahsoka Tano, former Jedi Knight.

With Ahsoka confirmed to return in Star Wars Rebels Season 4 two years after fans last saw her, many assumed she survived the battle with her former master. However, the deleted Star Wars Rebels scene seems to hint that Ahsoka died. Of course, death in Star Wars does not always mean a character is gone for good.

There were many speculations about Ahsoka’s real fate following that Season 2 showdown, but Filoni’s latest revelation has spawned new ones including the possibility that she will be back in Star Wars Rebels Season 4, but in a way that fans do not expect.

Star Wars watcher and YouTuber Bastion of Kuul believes that Ahsoka will be seen as a Force ghost only in the next season. He adds that the intense presence of the dark side in Malachor amplified by the connection she shared with Anakin Skywalker may have even corrupted her.

The folks over at Star Wars HQ, on the other hand, suggest that Ahsoka becomes a Force wielder in Star Wars Rebels Season 4 and begins a journey to the underworld as she transitions to become one.

The white wolf in the trailer for the new season could be the connecting entity between the world of Jedi and Sith to that of the current world where Ahsoka is as a Force wielder.

In the Star Wars universe, Force wielders are neutral Force-sensitive beings that do not have a fixed form and are often regarded as god-like. They can use the life force around them to create a temporary physical form.

In a batch of art pieces released by Filoni himself, Ahsoka was shown traversing another world where she is guided by different creatures including a convor that could have something to do with Bendu.

One of the illustrations shows her surrounded by wolves that resembled the one in the Star Wars Rebels Season 4 trailer. Star Wars HQ speculates that the wolf might also be acting as a guardian of the Rebels and Ahsoka’s way to keep tabs of the world she left and can no longer enter.

For now, however, there is no way of knowing yet. The timing of Filoni’s revelation has many thinking that he may be hinting at something, but fans will just have to wait until Star Wars Rebels Season 4 premieres this fall to learn the truth.
