Man And Woman Found Bound And Gagged In San Francisco Street

San Francisco, CA — A man is dead after he and a woman were found bound and gagged in the middle of a San Francisco street Sunday night.

According to San Francisco officer Albie Esparza, a motorist driving on Brussels Street in the Bayview District saw two people lying in the road and called police around 8:30 pm.

The man, who was believed to be in his early 20s, was unconscious. The woman, who also appeared to be in her early 20s, was “out of it,” according to Esparza. The two were taken to the hospital, where the man died and the woman remains in critical condition.

Police are waiting for the medical examiner’s report to determine what caused the male victim’s trauma. Esparza said it could have been blunt force trauma or a gunshot wound.

“No one saw or heard anything,” Esparza said. Esparza added that investigators are still trying to determine if the two were attacked somewhere else before being dumped on Brussels Street. Police are hoping the female victim will be able to speak with them soon and provide more information about what happened to her and the male victim.

Esparza said the neighborhood where the two victims were found is “pretty quiet.”

“It’s just your typical working-class neighborhood,” Esparza said. He added that investigators are canvassing the area to see if any of the homes had video surveillance that may have captured the incident. They are asking anyone in the community who may have information about the crime to come forward.
