Zendaya And Tom Holland Bash ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Dating Rumors In The Cutest Way

While Zendaya’s role in Spider-Man: Homecoming largely remains a mystery, it seems obvious that her character, Michelle, isn’t Peter Parker’s biggest fan. In fact, their interactions in the teasers up to this point might be described as cold at best, but Spider-Man: Homecoming fans are pushing for a much warmer situation for stars Tom Holland and Zendaya off screen. As fans hope rumors will push the stars closer together, both Zendaya and Tom are pushing back in their own way.

Zendaya Slams Tom Holland Dating Rumors

As Teen Vogue reports, Zendaya doesn’t really care what fans think about the possibility of a romance with her Spider-Man: Homecoming lead, because it’s just not going to happen. While fans have been leaving comments on social media that Zendaya and Holland would make “a cute couple,” the actress is responding to the contrary.

Posing at the Spider-Man: Homecoming premiere, Zendaya captioned the picture with “stealing hearts since ’96,” implying that she’s a heartbreaker and still single.

The message seemed too clouded for some fans, however. Zendaya responded to one Twitter fan, who insisted she was “cooking some sweet romance” with her Spider-Man: Homecoming lead.

“Right, cause nothing says ‘sweet romance’ like dragging each other for filth on Twitter,” Zendaya tweeted back to the fan.

Spider-Man: Homecoming fans are unlikely to let go of this particular fantasy, no matter what Zendaya says on the topic. The rumors may persist, even in spite of the sharp banter the actress exchanges with Holland on Twitter, which could be seen by some as adorable flirting between the two Marvel stars.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Stars Roast Each Other For Fans

Watching a Twitter feed can sometimes be more entertaining than it sounds, especially in the case of J-14 and their coverage of the roasting war between Zendaya and Tom Holland. Of course, the banter was prompted by the gossip mill’s suggestion that the two Spider-Man: Homecoming stars were dating and Zendaya’s responses to the rumors.

Following that up, Holland fired back at his Marvel co-star, after Zenday commented that she really disliked the Spider-Man star.

“Apart from when you want a part in Spiderman 2,” Holland fired at the actress.

Proving she can take the hits as well as she can give them, Zendaya kept her sense of humor, telling Tom to watch his step, as she still had the bigger Twitter following. The Spider-Man Homecoming actress warned Holland to “tread lightly” and followed that up with several laughing emoji faces.

It’s suspected that Zendaya will play the daughter of Michael Keaton’s villain, The Vulture, in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which may place the actress in a pivotal role. The question of her loyalties (will she side with Spidey or with dad?) may determine whether she’ll rejoin Tom Holland in future films.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7.
