After Fire In London Apartment Building, Victims Get Help From Kate Middleton, Will Meghan Markle Donate?

When the Evening Standard set up a fund to help victims of the devastating London fire at the Grenfell tower apartment building on June 13, they didn’t expect one of the first donors to be Kate Middleton. But Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Harry all dug deep to help London fire victims rebuild their lives after the tragedy.

The “extraordinary response” of ordinary London folks who wanted to do whatever they could to help was matched by a gesture of huge compassion from Kate Middleton and her husband and brother-in-law. The Grenfell Tower fire appears to have touched royal hearts, and the example set by Kate Middleton has inspired even more people to add to the flood of donations.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are set to move to the London neighborhood this fall with little George and Charlotte when they make Kensington Palace their primary home. Harry already lives in the Kensington Palace grounds, although Harry and Meghan Markle were recently house-hunting near Anmer Hall, Kate and William’s country home.

The royals felt the need to start as they mean to go on in their new London neighborhood and immediately reached out to see what they could do to help victims of the fire in the London apartment building. Hello magazine shared that Middleton and Prince William are urging others to donate too.

A statement from Kensington Palace recognized the almost unprecedented numbers of people in need of urgent assistance after the fire ravaged and completely destroyed the 24-story building. Kate Middleton, William, and Harry are “pleased” that the news outlet was so quick to respond with the fundraising effort so that the thousands of London citizens who want to help the London fire victims have a central place to make donations.

“As residents of the local area [Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Harry] are keen to offer their immediate support.”

Prince Harry said that his “thoughts go out” to the people of London whose lives have been destroyed by the London fire.

Kate Middleton also made sure that their Twitter account shared a link to the fire fund to encourage others to give. A royal nod can go a long way to persuading hesitant donors to open up their wallets.

Many businesses have joined those offering money and dropping off food, clothes, medical supplies, camping gear, and other emergency items to fire victims.

So far, there’s no mention of whether Meghan Markle is joining with Kate Middleton and the other royals to offer support to the London fire victims. It’s true that Prince Harry’s girlfriend is back home in Toronto, Canada, busy filming her hit show Suits, but Markle is well known as a humanitarian.

Fans may be wondering where she is at such a moment of national tragedy after the London fire, but the Mirror wrote that most Meghan Markle fans appear to be focused on her steamy first sex scene with Suits co-star Patrick J. Adams.

The Observer wrote that Meghan Markle is “the ideal royal girlfriend,” who knows how to keep a low profile and protect her privacy, so it’s more than possible that she is working behind the scenes with Kate Middleton to help those who lost their homes and loved ones in the tower fire.
