Reason Why Seth Rollins Replaced Finn Balor As Bray Wyatt’s Rival This Summer

One of the most surprising moves during WWE’s “Superstar Shakeup,” after Wrestlemania was Bray Wyatt moving to Raw. However, the WWE Universe was ecstatic about the move because they were led to believe Wyatt was headed into a huge rivalry with Finn Balor. Unfortunately for the fans, WWE officials were forced to change their plans, and The Demon vs. The Eater of Worlds has been delayed for the foreseeable future.

After WWE Extreme Rules, Samoa Joe has emerged as the No. 1 Contender for the WWE Universal Title, and his rivalry with Brock Lesnar is red-hot. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns and Finn Balor are without rivalries, but an interesting feud has begun between Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. The two men will feud heading into the WWE Great Balls of Fire PPV next month. At the moment, the WWE Universe is more curious than excited.

Several weeks ago, Rollins and Wyatt fought to a draw. Their feud was postponed until after the recent Fatal Five Way, but WWE officials decided there was something developing between them. On Raw this week, the rivals had their first real confrontation, and Bray revealed that some remarks by Rollins had offended him. That’s why they’re feuding on television, but officials want them to feud for a different reason.

Apparently, Braun Strowman’s injury changed a lot of creative plans. It’s being reported that Strowman was not meant to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship in a singles match. The original plan was for Lesnar to defend the title in a Fatal Four Way against Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, and Strowman, but creative plans changed after the latter’s injury. Afterward, the Fatal Five Way was booked as a result.

WWE officials made the decision to end the feud between Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins for the time being. It has been put on the back-burner until after WWE Great Balls of Fire. However, the real reason why Balor vs. Wyatt was canceled for Rollins vs. Wyatt is that the powers that be see the former as an important rivalry.

There is some speculation about Finn Balor re-entering the WWE Universal Title picture heading into WWE Summerslam. It is possible a Triple Threat match between Balor, Lesnar, and Strowman is coming. If that is the case, the Rollins vs. Wyatt feud may continue for some time. It was not expected to last more than a couple of months, which is the opposite of Balor vs. Wyatt. WWE officials want their rivalry to be a long term feud.

There is no question that Balor vs. Wyatt is the more interesting rivalry. Both characters are dark in nature or can be when necessary. It’s understandable why the powers that be would want to save their conflicts for WWE Survivor Series or even the WWE Royal Rumble PPV. The Demon vs. The Eater of Worlds deserves a huge platform, but Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt isn’t going to be as forgetful as some people believe it will be.

WWE officials are keeping The Kingslayer out of the Universal Title picture for the foreseeable future. After defeating HH on the grandest stage of them all, it’s a step down to not be featured in the WWE Title picture at all. However, he’s expected to get some valuable wins over Bray Wyatt to keep his momentum going. A lot of people feel that Bray deserves a few big wins as well, but he’s likely to end the feud in the same spot he is in right now. Regardless of how WWE books the rivalry, it should surprise the WWE Universe.
