'Boruto' Episode 12: What Is Mitsuki Hiding From Boruto?

Mark Jason Alcala

Boruto Episode 12 is shaping up to be one exciting installment, as it will hopefully reveal something about Mitsuki's mysterious connection to the masked man controlling the dark chakra. Numerous speculations have been heaped upon the character since his introduction especially since Mitsuke, along with a still-unrevealed contact, seems to be doing an investigation of his own regarding the dark chakra incidents.

The Man Behind the Mask

In the recently released Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 11, Boruto and his team finally trapped the elusive person controlling the dark chakra that has been attacking Konoha villagers. With the help of his classmates, they fooled the enemy into thinking that every spot in Konoha, save the post office, is being watched. Of course, he had no choice but to attack the postmaster.

But it was Boruto's plan all along. Trapped, the masked enemy made a hasty retreat, but even his escape was blocked by more of Boruto's classmates. A pursuit ensued, which culminated in Mitsuki having cornered the masked enemy in one of Konoha's underground tunnels. But then a very surprising thing happened. Mitsuki made no attempt to stop the perpetrator, and he just stared as the masked man walked away. More surprising still, he lied to Boruto, telling him that the suspect was able to escape.

"Boruto and Mitsuki" Spoilers

The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 12 preview, which can be viewed below, reveals that Naruto will not be too happy with his son trying to investigate the potentially deadly incidents. But Boruto being, it is probably safe to assume that he will find a way to go around his father's restrictions and continue to pursue the investigation in the next episode, which is titled "Boruto and Mitsuki."

But more importantly, it is likely that the full extent of Mitsuki's knowledge of the dark chakra problem will be revealed in the coming Boruto Episode 12. The synopsis of the upcoming episode, which was posted on Twitter by user Ken Xyro, seems to suggest that Mitsuki will undergo some changes in himself that will leave him baffled and could prod him to open up to Boruto and reveal what he knows of the problem.

Episode 12 of the anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will arrive on June 21, 2017. Stay tuned for updates.
