WWE Hall Of Famer Wants To Return To Be A Part Of Brock Lesnar Vs. Samoa Joe At ‘Great Balls Of Fire’

The fans are not the only ones looking forward to Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe for the WWE Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire as legends can’t wait either. The title match is one that fans never thought would happen, but they got a small taste of it in a brawl this week on Monday Night Raw. With less than a month to go until it takes place at the pay-per-view (PPV), WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross wants to return and wants to call it.

Right after WrestleMania 33, it was revealed that Jim Ross had signed a two-year deal to return to WWE for appearances and the occasional announce duties. Ross called the main event of WrestleMania which saw Roman Reigns defeat The Undertaker in what was likely the last match for the legend.

Now, the Hall of Famer is looking to call his next match and he actually would like to do it on July 9 of this year. That is when the Monday Night Raw-exclusive PPV called Great Balls of Fire will take place with the epic showdown between Samoa Joe and Lesnar.

If it were up to Jim Ross, as he told Busted Open, he’d love to be behind the desk to call that “classic.”

Ross was a recent guest on the show and discussed the upcoming battle between the two beasts, and he didn’t say it, but you know he believes it will be a “slobberknocker.” As transcribed by Wrestling Inc., Ross did say that he believes this match will be a “classic” bout.”

“I believe those two guys are gonna have a whole hell of a lot to say about their presentation in Dallas. I really do. I also believe that each guy is an alpha male. They’re going to bring each other their best, there’s gonna be locks up that would make some people leave wrestling school. So, I believe Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar is going to be a classic.”

From there, Ross went as far as to say that he would love to be the one to call the match for WWE.

“I believe it’s going to be a great match, ya know, I’ve lobbied to call it, like a goof. I will ‘Talk for food.’ From Oklahoma to Dallas, I can be there in two and half hours.”

While anything is possible in wrestling, if Jim Ross doesn’t end up calling the match, it will be the normal Raw broadcast team of Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Booker T.

Countless wrestling fans have been hoping for new match-ups lately and WWE is certainly delivering one with Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar. This is going to be an extremely interesting program leading up to a violent and brutal match at Great Balls of Fire. Jim Ross may be right in calling it a “classic,” but will he get his wish of being able to call it?
