Brad Pitt Celebrates Sobriety Milestone Amid Angelina Jolie Divorce

Brad Pitt has called it quits with booze as his messy split from Angelina Jolie nears its end.

As the former couple continues to hash out the details of their divorce and custody arrangement for their six kids, the 53-year-old actor is said to be completely sober as he adjusts to life as a single father.

“[Brad Pitt] just celebrated another huge sober milestone and he is doing really great right now!” a source told Radar Online on June 14, adding that the actor recently received an Alcoholics Anonymous token after several months of sobriety.

The insider went on to reveal that Brad Pitt has been highly active in the sober community in Los Angeles and attends Alcoholics Anonymous meetings nearly daily.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie parted ways in September of last year and have been living separately in Los Angeles in the months since. As fans may have heard, Pitt moved in with a friend in Santa Monica after Jolie filed for divorce. Meanwhile, Jolie took their kids with her to a rented home in Malibu before ultimately purchasing a new home for herself and her kids in Los Feliz.

Last month, Brad Pitt opened up about his boozing habits during an interview with GQ magazine.

Speaking to the publication, via Life & Style magazine, Brad Pitt said that he quit everything except for alcohol when he and Angelina Jolie started a family over a decade ago. Then, he admitted, he began boozing “too much” in 2016.

Continuing on, Brad Pitt said that his drinking habits had become a problem but after sixth months, he was really happy and dealing with his emotions in a healthier manner. As he explained, one can either deny their emotions or come to terms with the situation and evolve.

Brad Pitt shares six children with Angelina Jolie, including 15-year-old Maddox, 13-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 11-year-old Shiloh, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, and after getting sober, he’s realized that he has to be better for them.

Since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie parted ways several months ago, the actor has been keeping to himself, aside from attending a few events, as Jolie and their kids step out often in Los Angeles.
