‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Scandal: Ben Higgins Debunks Speculations That The Drunken Sex Was Part Of A Storyline

The Bachelor in Paradise scandal narrative continues to expand as Ben Higgins weighs in on speculations that the “incident” between Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson was part of a storyline.

According to the Paradise alum, there is production going on when the cameras start rolling but the show’s storyline is not scripted. Speaking to People, Higgins denied that the BIP cast are acting on a certain storyline prepared beforehand and noted that the story “makes itself up.”

“The storyline makes itself up each and every day during the process of filming The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise,” he clarified, speaking out about rumors that Olympios or DeMario was “forced” into the situation that launched the Bachelor In Paradise scandal.

In the interview, the 29-year-old reality TV star acknowledged that mistakes can be made. After all, “these people are humans” and aren’t “going to be perfect at their job.”

Furthermore, Higgins called for patience and understanding from the viewers of the show, telling them that they “have to understand that they were just trying to portray a storyline that was existing in front [of them].”

Higgins’ statement comes shortly after speculations cited by Entertainment Tonight suggesting that the “incident” was created by the producers themselves.

Citing an anonymous source, the outlet reported that the Bachelor In Paradise scandal that involved Olympios and DeMario was actually encouraged.

The outlet further noted how the two parties involved appear to be cool with it all, as Jackson and Olympios were in good terms after the incident.

“DeMario was trying to reach Corinne via email, Instagram and Facebook for a few days,” the outlet’s source revealed.

“Finally, [he] got a hold of her, they exchanged numbers and they’ve been talking. They are both speaking and on good terms.”

However, several contradicting reports about the Bachelor In Paradise scandal emerged since it became the center of attention including one from TMZ that claims that Corinne was in “blackout state” and do not remember anything that happened.

This particular report garnered attention as it’s suggesting that the 24-year-old reality star from Nick Viall’s The Bachelor did not consent to the alleged “drunken oral sex.”

DeMario, on the other hand, remembers everything that happened and even revealed details about the incident including “rubbing, touching and fingering” as well as licking her genitals in the pool. Other members of the cast and crew support his claims.

Neither DeMario nor Corinne made any statement about the Bachelor In Paradise scandal while Chris Harrison, the show’s resident host, urged viewers to be patient until the investigation is done in a statement first reported by People.

“Warner Bros. is handling the details of that investigation. They’re moving quickly to gather all the facts, and once that’s done, a clear, concise decision can be made about where we go from here.”

He also admitted that while he wanted to remain quiet until the investigation is done, it seemed impossible now that a lot of rumors have surfaced and that the Bachelor In Paradise scandal has since been plagued with wrong information.
