Kim explained how she got rich from social media

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star gave a talk with Steve Forbes to more than 300 people called “Evolving the Empire: Kim Kardashian West on Reigning Supreme,” E! News reported.

Kim Kardashian, 36, had all eyes on her at the Forbes Women’s Summit on Tuesday. The reality star mogul spoke about her business ventures, as well as what her evolving strategy has been over the years for building one of the biggest social media followings in the world.

The mother-of-two announced an upcoming beauty line at the summit as well, saying that she felt the line was a culmination of everything she had done in the past.

“Social media is the most important tool to building your brand.”

“Social media requires you to be authentic and listen, especially when it comes to building your brand.”

Kardashian even went into detail about the difference between the social media platforms saying that she loved the “conversation” she was able to have with her fans over Twitter, whereas she feels that Snapchat is the perfect app to “show your everyday life.”

Kim did mention that she has been more particular about what she chooses to post on her Instagram page.

“If people think you just post and it’s so easy, it’s not.”

“I like my Instagram to look a certain way, and I’m really a lunatic about it because sometimes there is so much pressure to post, too.”

Authentically Kim

Steve Forbes asked Kardashian about her infamous break from social media following her traumatic robbery in Paris.

“When you take time for yourself, magic happens.”

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star told the crowd at the Forbes Women’s Summit that she felt her “whole career” had been leading up to the launches of her new lines, which she says are “authentically me.”

“I’m launching a fragrance at the end of the year, and these are all projects I’m doing full ownership…every last detail from the box, to the packaging, to being in the factory and feeling every packaging detail.”

The reality star confirmed that she was “100-percent involved in” all aspects of her new line, which was “really important” to her.

Kim also sat down before the Women’s Summit to say how proud she felt after landing the cover of Forbes last year.

“That was powerful to me. It was a marker to prove to me how hard I really have worked.”

“I’m not saying everyone needs a cover to make them feel like they really achieved something, but I think for all the scrutiny that’s out there.”

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is often criticized for “having no talent,” so she joked that it was “not bad for a girl with no talent.”
