‘Teen Mom OG’s Catelynn Lowell Responds To Matt Baier Giving Her Drugs During Press Tour

Amber Portwood and Matt Baier may be officially on the outs, and his actions toward fellow Teen Mom OG cast member, Catelynn Lowell, could be partially to blame for it.

Fans of the show already know that Amber and Matt have been having their fair share of trouble. Although Matt proposed to her a while ago, Amber confessed that she didn’t fully trust him and broke down crying when trying on a wedding dress, and not in a good way. The pair also accompanied friends to Las Vegas to see them get married, and Matt attempted to corner Amber into marrying him as well. When she decided she didn’t want to do so without her daughter, parents, and brother, Matt flipped and said he would never marry her.

Like many of the cast members of Teen Mom OG, Matt and Catelynn Lowell have both suffered from substance abuse issues in the past. Catelynn’s mother and former stepfather have also struggled with drug addictions for most of her life. Catelynn Lowell has also been incredibly candid about her struggles with severe anxiety and postpartum depression, which has led the reality start to self-medicate with marijuana.

During a recent press tour when the entire cast was together, Matt handed Catelynn Lowell a Xanax to help relieve some of her anxiety about going on stage, which enraged his fiancee, Amber Portwood, because he was supposed to be working on staying clean and was feeding substances to one of her close friends who has their own issues.

Catelynn Lowell addressed the issue via Twitter.

“FYI I never took what Matt gave me. Like I know what it is?! Hell no. I saved that s**t and told Amber I wanted proof.”

Matt claims he was holding the medication for Amber in case she was nervous on the flight, however, Amber is also a former drug addict herself, which makes matters even more complex.

Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood share a strong bond and connection. Portwood visited Catelynn and her husband, Tyler Baltierra in Michigan over Easter weekend, which first sparked rumors that Amber and Matt were no longer together.

The two women are also close with their co-star, Maci Bookout, whom they have been extremely supportive of as she copes with helping her ex and father of her son, Bentley, 8, overcome his own addiction to prescription pills.
