‘Days Of Our Lives’: Eric Martsolf Discusses Brady And Nicole’s ‘Beautiful’ Blended Family

Days Of Our Lives fans are preparing for Nicole Walker to leave Salem. Viewers are not the only ones who are sad Arianne Zucker is exiting the soap opera. Her co-stars are happy she is moving forward, but are going to miss her terribly. Recently, Eric Martsolf discussed Zucker leaving DOOL. During the interview, he also talked about Brady and Nicole’s “beautiful” blended family.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Arianne Zucker is filming her final scenes for Days Of Our Lives this week. That means Nicole will be leaving Salem around Thanksgiving. In the meantime, viewers are wondering what is going to happen with Brady and Nicole, who recently moved from friends to lovers. After going through so much together, how can the writers rip them apart? In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Eric Martsolf discussed being paired up once again with Nicole Walker.

Not only are Brady and Nicole a couple, but they are bringing children into their relationship on Days Of Our Lives. Brady is the father to Tate, and Nicole’s biological daughter is Holly, who was born via surrogate. There was a long, twisted storyline of Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) fighting for custody of Holly and then, Nicole kidnapped her baby. It was only recently that Nicole and Holly came back to Salem and now the fugitive mother has to face a judge.

“It’s a nice example of how the ties can bind. It’s not really blood that is the final determining factor int heir connectivity. Family is family, no matter how you design it and put it together. I think that Brady, Nicole, Holly, and Tate are a beautiful example of a blended family.”

The actor also spoke about Arianne Zucker leaving Days Of Our Lives. He has enjoyed working with her, but is also excited about her future. He called his co-star leaving “bittersweet.”

“The knowledge that Ari’s time on the show [is] coming to a close has given more of an impact to our scenes together. I find myself watching Brady and Nicole and getting slightly choked up. I just enjoy Ari’s company so much. Seeing her leave [is] a tough one. I’m hoping that it’s not for too long.”

Martsolf’s statement makes it sound like Nicole could return to Salem in the future. When discussing her exit in an interview, Zucker was asked if she would ever return to Days Of Our Lives. Like many other former DOOL stars, she said, “never say never.”

In an interview with Soap Central, she hinted that Nicole’s exit does leave an opening. That implies that when Nicole leaves Salem, they left the storyline open so she could return. Basically, she doesn’t get killed off, which is a relief considering all the trauma the writers have put her through over the years.

“I know plans are meant to change, so I’m open to that, but I have a direction I want to go in, and I’m building that. So as much as I wanted to stay and see what Ron had to write, I also wanted to stick to my heart and my goal and my dreams, because you are never, ever, ever, ever, ever too old to dream. Ever. I always tell my daughter that all the time. I say, ‘Mommy still has dreams. And I’m going for them.’ So on a personal level, that’s where I’m going.”

What do you think of what Eric Martsolf said about Brady and Nicole’s blended family? Are you going to be disappointed when Nicole Walker leaves Salem? Do you think Arianne Zucker will eventually return to Days Of Our Lives?
