Season 12 of America’s Got Talent brings a new host and stunning new acts. Tyra Banks replaced Nick Cannon and the transition has been a smooth one. America’s Got Talent takes place at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater. Season 12 judges include Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Mel B, and Heidi Klum. It’s unusual for the show to have so many notable performers in the premiere episode and the second episode was no exception.

Ventriloquist Darci Lynne, who is only 12-years-old, stunned the audience and home viewers with her act that included her bunny puppet Petunia. Not only did Darci Lynne wow the crowds, she earned the first golden buzzer which sends her straight to the live rounds. You may watch Darci Lynne’s performance in the video below.

There’s no question that America has their work cut out for them. There were enough star-studded acts during the first two auditions that America could easily pick a winner just from the talent already on the show. Lucky for audiences, there is more talent to try out for the summer’s top talent show.

Here’s a list of the best of the best in the first two America’s Got Talent auditions and why we think we’ll see these contestants for the long haul.

Preacher Lawson: Keep an eye on Preacher who had the audience in stitches with his stand-up humor. After he finished his act, Simon urged him to perform an additional routine and it’s a good thing Preacher didn’t let fear get in the way. Preacher’s follow up act was better than the first and he made it through. If he can keep bringing the laughs we might see him for many rounds.

Yoli Mayor: Yoli had the chops to wow the audience with her singing and there were a few Adele vibes going on. At 21-years-old, Yoli shared some personal struggles she’s had with her weight and maybe that made her feel more comfortable with an old-fashioned appeal. Simon wasn’t having any of it and he flashed back to American Idol mode. He wanted Yoli to sing a younger song, on the spot. Tyra ran over and held Yoli’s jewelry for her as she cut short her jazz ensemble “I Put a Spell On You” and sang “Make it Rain” by Ed Sheeran. The move paid off and it seemed she made a fan out of Simon Cowell. He may be tough to impress, but you have to admit that the man behind One Direction, Leona Lewis, Fifth Harmony and Ill Divo knows a thing or two about music. A stamp of approval from Simon really goes a long way, as we expect Yoli Mayor will do in America’s Got Talent Season 12.

Junior and Emily Alabi: This sizzling sibling Salsa dancing team may just dance their way to the finale.

Will Tsai: As long as Will has more tricks up his sleeve, we’re certain he’ll go the long haul. His magic mesmerized the crowd and while you can sometimes figure out how a magician or illusionist pulled of his or her act, Tsai left everyone spellbound. America’s Got Talent has been kind to magicians and we can’t imagine Tsai’s audition not bringing him future gigs if he’s not the Season 12 winner.

Merrick Hanna: The tear-jerking pop-lock dancer who stole hearts and the show by giving us all kinds of “Toy Story” the kid just grew up vibes. Hanna’s routine was touching and he left it and the audience in a wave of emotion. He was an excellent storyteller and he’s only 12-years-old. Merrick told the story of an abandoned toy robot who’d rather die than be neglected by the child who once loved him. Maybe Merrick should perform “The Giving Tree” next. How hard could it be to embody a tree after performing as a robot?

Darci Lynne Farmer: Another 12-year-old wowed the crowd and scored the first Golden Buzz of Season 12. Darci Lynne became interested in ventriloquism after seeing it performed at a church service. She stated she was shy and began ventriloquism to have a form of support and support she received. She sang “Summertime” and had a playful, onstage presence that didn’t have one hint of shyness over it. Ventriloquism works for her and this young girl apparently found her call at an early age. She may just be the next America’s Got Talent winner.

Diavolo: Bringing Cirque du Soleil, Vegas style acts to America’s Got Talent is something many contestants attempt to do but fail to achieve. We may be looking at the next winning act to hit Vegas with Diavolo. They described themselves as architecture in motion and combined large props with acrobatics. It was amazing and there’s no question people will want to see more. We’re sure this movement company is going to move forward in Season 12.

Chase Goehring: The first two episodes of America’s Got Talent is heavy with singing talent and if Eminem and Ed Sheeran had a baby, it would be Chase Goehring. This 21-year-old singer/songwriter/musician isn’t just talented, he’s unique as well. We don’t usually hear sweet vocals switch into rap the way Chase did and that ability to scale genres may keep him fresh enough to battle it out with the other singers. Chase’s song “Hurt” was a viral success and already has over 1 million views. Hello, do we need to say more?

Angelica Hale: This nine-year-old wants to be a superstar and we think she may get her wish.

Mandy Harvey: Earning the second Golden Buzzer of the season, Mandy Harvey wowed, shocked, and stunned the America’s Got Talent host, judges, audience, and home viewers. Her story was heart-wrenching as the 29-year-old singer explained through a translator how she lost her hearing at 18-years-old. It would seem her musical aspirations and dreams would be finished, but Mandy was not to be derailed. She has overcome the obstacles and her story is inspirational. Her voice was amazing and there’s little doubt anyone who seriously wants to win America’s Got Talent will battle it out with Mandy to get there.

Colin Cloud: He calls himself the real-life Sherlock Holmes, but he just proved there are real psychics in the world posing as mentalists. His act was mesmerizing and freaky at the same time. We’re predicting there will be more of Colin Cloud in America’s Got Talent’s future.
