Where To Score Freebies On National Iced Tea Day

Saturday, June 10, marks National Iced Tea Day, one of the most splendid holidays in existence. Iced tea is happily consumed by Americans on a daily basis, and adoring fans just can’t seem to get enough of this sweet beverage. It’s safe to say that there’s no better way to celebrate than by scoring some free goodies from your favorite brands!

According to the National Iced Tea Day website, iced tea is the second most popular drink in the country behind water.

“In 2014, Americans consumed over 80 billion servings of tea, or more than 3.60 billion gallons. Approximately 85 per cent of the tea consumed in America is iced,” the website says.

The website goes on to say that this delicious beverage was first made popular thanks to the World’s Fair.

“That exceedingly hot summer meant fair goers were looking to cool down and what better way than with a glass of iced tea. By the First World War, Americans were buying tall glasses, which became commonly known as iced-tea glasses, long spoons suitable for stirring sugar into taller glasses and lemon forks.”

Iced Tea giant NESTEA has long since been a favorite among iced tea enthusiasts. Their lineup of teas include real brewed tea, organic tea and classic tea as well.

According to their website, NESTEA has recently transformed their recipe.

“NESTEA has completely reformulated the recipe for our classic flavors (Lemon, Peach, Raspberry) with fewer ingredients and improved taste. NESTEA also has introduced a new Real Brewed range for an authentic tea taste. The NESTEA logo has been refreshed along with our new sleek bottles.”

To celebrate the holiday, NESTEA is giving out free coupons for new NESTEA Now products. Customers simply need to go to their website and fill out a form to get a coupon sent their way. The offer is good until June 19 or while supplies last.

Other iced tea retailers are following along in the footsteps of NESTEA by also offering awesome free deals to their customers.

Teavana: At participating stores, customers can score a free 24-fluid-ounce Peach Bellini iced tea to go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

McAlister’s Deli: McAlister’s will give away free 32-ounce tumblers to the first 20 customers in line.

Adagios Tea: The retailer will give a free sample of Chamomile Iced Tea with every purchase made on June 10.

Tervis: All Tervis brick and mortar stores are doing a BOGO sale. Buy one tea designed tumbler and get the second one free.

DAVIDsTEA: They’re offering a free iced tea of the day on both June 10 and June 11. Flavors include Fruity Oasis, Passion Punch, and Maracuja Mango.

For years, coffee drinkers and iced tea drinkers have fought over which drink is better. And though there may never be an official verdict in this long heated battle, that doesn’t stop people from fighting over it.

Iced tea’s rival coffee will celebrate its very own national holiday later this year. But unfortunately, coffee enthusiasts will have to wait until September 29 to take part in the holiday.

Last year, Dunkin’ Donuts celebrated National Coffee Day by giving 66 Twitter followers cards good for a year’s worth of free coffee. In turn, Starbucks gave back by donating one rust-resistant coffee tree to coffee farmers in need with each purchase of brewed Mexico Chiapas coffee.
