What Split? Kardashians Celebrate Kanye West’s 40th Birthday On Social Media
Kanye West celebrated his 40th birthday yesterday, and the Kardashian family flocked to social media to publicly wish him well on his big day. This comes amid constant rumors that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have split up and will soon be announcing their divorce.
It’s impossible to know for sure if the well-wishes were genuine or simply a PR move. After all, if Kim and Kanye have split up, announcing it before the world gets to watch their relationship unravel on Keeping Up With the Kardashians could damage that next season’s ratings potential.
Would a soon-to-be divorced couple keep their turmoil private just long enough to make money off of it? Only time will tell. In the meantime, the Kardashians are clearly attempting to squash all of the breakup rumors by using his 40th birthday as a good excuse to shower Kanye West with virtual love.
First Post Honors Go to Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner, the mother of the Kardashian clan, was the first member of the family to highlight Kanye West’s birthday on social media. Jenner posted a collage of images containing her and West to her Instagram account, which was accompanied by the statement, “Happy birthday to my son #kanyewest!!” The post also contained high praise for Kanye West, as did everything else posted by the Kardashians in honor of West’s birthday.
Kim Wishes Her Husband a Happy Birthday
If Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have split it up, they’re definitely keeping this a closely guarded secret. In Kim’s effusive birthday post, she stated, “I love you so much,” and went on to exclaim, “You inspire me every day to be a better person! I’m so grateful for you.”
Kourtney’s Social Media Post Met with Negative Reaction
Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian also recognized Kanye West’s 40th birthday. Controversy seems to follow the Kardashian family everywhere it goes, so it’s not surprising that some people attempted to make a big deal out of the stoic look on West’s face in the photo that Kourtney posted.
Perhaps what should be surprising, though, is the fact that the look on Kanye West’s face was what caused a stir. West is known to have a neutral, or even glum, non-smiling expression at most times, especially in photographs. In other words, the hubbub about this image may be just as nonsensical as the persistent belief that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have secretly broken up.
Where Are All of the Breakup Rumors Coming From?
The couple has faced rumors about a pending divorce almost since the first day of their marriage. More recently, a gossip site published the bombshell that Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner have supposedly filmed a scene in which Kim tearfully tells her mother that she has broken up with Kanye West.
The current batch of breakup rumors are mostly linked back to Kim Kardashian being robbed in Paris last year. Insiders have reportedly told media sources that Kanye West implored his wife not to exploit the terrifying experience for ratings. Of course, Kim did end up making what happened to them public, and then she discussed the entire ordeal on camera. It’s been reported that Kanye was so angry about Kim’s decision that he stormed off.
When you combine these pieces of gossip with Kim’s confession that she feels some responsibility for West’s late-2016 mental-health-related hospitalization, it becomes easy to see why so many fans and gossip sites keep circulating break-up rumors.
Until something verifiable happens, though, such as divorce papers being filed, no one but Kanye and Kim will know for sure. Meanwhile, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian certainly seemed like a happy couple during their recent early birthday vacation to the Bahamas, which cost an estimated $440,000.
