Khloe Kardashian Admits Past Fertility Treatments Were All For Show: ‘I Fake-Tried’ To Get Pregnant With Lamar

As seen in past seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian tried so hard to conceive when she was still married to Lamar Odom. But did she really want to have kids? The 32-year-old reality star is revealing now that she only pretended to go through fertility treatments during her tumultuous marriage.

In the season finale of Keeping Up With The Kardashians last Sunday, Khloe was back again at the doctor’s office for a fertility consultation. Kim Kardashian was with her because the two sisters wanted to know if Khloe could be a potential surrogate should Kim want another child.

When the fertility specialist asked Khloe if she has ever tried to get pregnant before, her “yes” was more like a “kind of.”

“I fake-tried. I was married, but I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest. So, I just kept pretending I was doing it.”

Khloe Kardashian married former NBA player Lamar Odom back in 2009, after dating for only one month. For a while, fans thought theirs was a happy marriage. The two even had a KUTW spin-off, Khloe and Lamar. But in 2013, the two shockingly split up over Lamar’s alleged alcohol and drug addiction and infidelity. In 2015, Lamar was found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada after having overdosed. Their divorce was made final last year.

Khloe and Lamar’s attempts to start a family was heavily featured in their reality series, but now Khloe revealed that it was only all for a show.

“When I was doing my fertility treatments, they were more so for Lamar. I had to stop cause there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage.”

The reality star-turned-businesswoman further explained that she only did that to “cover up” for her husband of four years.

“I knew that it wasn’t the right situation to bring a child into, and I think I’ve done a lot of covering up for him, like even when it made me look like I was the problem.”

Khloe is now dating another NBA star, Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson. According to the Daily Mail, Khloe is very happy with their relationship and has even discussed marriage and babies. Thompson has a six-month-old son with his former girlfriend. In another teaser for Keeping Up With The Kardashian, Khloe expressed her renewed desire to be a mom and start a family.

“I definitely want to be a mom. But I don’t put the pressure on it. It’s not like, the clock is ticking. I feel in my soul it will happen.”

However, Khloe Kardashian received bad news from the doctor regarding her chances of getting pregnant. While having her transvaginal ultrasound done, the fertility expert explained that Khloe’s follicle count is quite low for a woman her age.

An ultrasound cannot show a woman’s eggs and is not indicative of the eggs’ quality. Doctors rely on the follicle count because the eggs are contained within the follicles. Because Khloe has a less than average follicle count, this might mean that she also has fewer eggs and thus has a lesser chance of getting pregnant, the doctor explained.

On the upside, this does not mean that Khloe will never have children of her own someday. With today’s medical advancements, there are lots of options for women like Khloe whose conception may be a little more difficult. In fact, her sister Kim also had fertility issues and now has two children with Kanye West.

In 2015, Kim Kardashian opened up with C Magazine about how she and Kanye struggled to conceive in the past. Kim has a condition called “placenta accreta,” where the placenta abnormally attaches to the uterine wall. Because of the surgery, she had to undergo to fix the problem, Kim was advised to not conceive again.
