Ryan Edwards’ Ex-Girlfriend, Shelby Woods, Speaks Out About His Drug Issues

Teen Mom OG‘s Ryan Edwards has recently gone into rehab to overcome his drug issues, and drama has ensued via the women in his life on social media. Although the reality TV star and father of Bentley, 8, has not publicly addressed what is going on with him, his mother, Jen Edwards; wife, Mackenzie Standifer; and ex-girlfriend, Dalis Connell have all made public statements. And now, his ex, Shelby Woods, who appeared on episodes of Teen Mom OG, has also come forward.

According to ex Dalis Connell, Ryan Edwards had been abusing prescription pills for several years, but his family was in denial.

“One of his friends was on pills and he tried it one night when we first started dating. He started taking those while I was in class. I ran track in college and would be gone all day and he was bored,” Dalis, who is now a fitness model, claimed of her ex, Ryan Edwards.

Dalis also told Radar Online that Ryan Edwards went to rehab in 2012, though he was taken there kicking and screaming. She also said that although he did the program, he relapsed on the prescription pills just one week later.

“He wasn’t interested in rehab. We had to drag him there the first time. He never said he wanted to get better, he just wanted the withdrawals to stop,” she said.

However, Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards’ mom, Jen, were none too pleased with Dalis spilling the tea to Radar Online. Jen even recently tweeted Dalis, telling her that she clearly just wanted attention and money, though Dalis claims she didn’t get paid a cent for dishing on the family secrets to the publication. She also claims she runs a successful business and doesn’t need money.

Mackenzie Standifer, who married Ryan Edwards secretly before he went off to rehab, lashed back at Dalis and accused her of being on pills as well, which Dalis denies.

Standifer also went off on the website All About the Tea who reported that her custody arrangement with her ex over her son, Hudson, changed in his favor.

“Seriously, to hell with you and your ‘tea.’ Get on somewhere. Believe me or not… I don’t pay child support. You’re so f**king low,” she railed the gossip site.

It doesn’t seem Mackenzie is adjusting well to life underneath the microscope.

Ryan’s mom, Jen Edwards, did not confirm or deny that anything was going on with her son, and exclusively told The Dirty that she had a story to tell, but wasn’t interested in doing so at the moment. She did confirm, however, that it would come out eventually, so it seems we all have to be patient for Jen and Larry’s side to finally be dished.

The gossip website The Ashley reached out to Shelby Woods, who appeared on a few episodes of Teen Mom OG and dated Ryan Edwards after his two-year relationship with Dalis Connell.

Instead of getting involved in the spat, Shelby Woods decided to take the classy route by neither confirming nor denying what she knew about Ryan Edwards’ personal life.

“I feel as though none of that is any of my business. If Ryan wants to speak in regard to it then that’s fine, but I don’t have anything to say.”

Many Teen Mom OG fans have long suspected that Ryan Edwards had a drug problem, but it was not confirmed until Maci Bookout confessed to the cameras that Ryan’s drug problem had gotten worse and she was scared. She opened up to the fellow moms during a vacation to Puerto Rico that she often spent nights crying about her ex and worrying about his well-being.
