Fox Stars In Danger With Celebrity Diving Special

Fox Stars In Danger: The High Dive will feature eight celebrities competing in a Olympics style high diving special. According to Hollywood Reporter, Fox network announced the two-hour special will send stars to the swimming pool on Wednesday, January 9.

Along the same lines as Dancing With The Stars, audiences will get to see well known names compete in a sport where they probably have very little to no experience. I would not be surprised if at least one belly flop will ensue.

Based on the long-running German format, Fox’s Stars In Danger: High Dive will see contestants take a crash-course in diving techniques overseen by renowned diving coaches and Olympic diving medalist Troy Dumais. The competition will consist of a series of Olympic-style dives including high diving, synchronized dives, and other physically demanding activities from a variety of heights.

Fox’s Stars in Danger will pit several Reality TV shows against each other, with Jersey Shore‘s Jwoww, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills siblings Kim and Kyle Richards, former NFL pro Terrell Owens and Antonio Sabato Jr., and others competing for the prize. Rounding out the High Dive competitors are Soul Surfer subject /author/ pro surfer Bethany Hamilton, and Baywatch‘s Alexandra Paul and David Chokachi.

The eight stars will be put in danger by Bunim/Murry Productions, who also produced the Real World. Fox’s Stars In Danger: High Dive special comes nearly three months ahead of ABC’s similarly themed Celebrity Diving series, featuring judge and Olympic icons Greg Louganisand David Boudia. The participants for the competing TV show have yet to be announced ahead of its March 19 premiere.
