The feud between Real Housewives of Orange County castmates Shannon Beador and Vicki Gunvalson continues to move in a downward and nasty spiral. The new trailer for the franchise’s 12th season was released yesterday on their Facebook page, and it’s nothing short of drama-filled. But the thing that most fans are taking notice of is Shannon’s larger frame and how she claims to have gotten it.
“I just don’t understand how I let myself go,” the mother of three emotionally confesses to the camera as she wipes away tears.
“This is stress and that is Vicki Gunvalson,” Beador tells friends Tamra Judge and Lydia McLaughlin, and she grabs at her stomach in another snippet.
Fans of the show were outraged at the thought of Shannon blaming someone else for her own weight gain, especially the fact that Beador blames the O.G. of the O.C., Vicki Gunvalson. Many fans took to the franchise’s Facebook page to bash Beador over the shocking allegations.
“Shannon Shannon Shannon…you can NOT blame someone else for YOUR weight gain. That’s why you’ve gained the weight my dear…you’re blaming others instead of dealing with whatever is bothering you!!!”
Another fan of the show suggests that if Vicki bothers Shannon so much, she should just move on.
“If Vicki is a stressful factor in your life then why keep talking about her and complaining? I like Shannon but she does complain a lot about Vicki when she should just move on.”
Over the past few years, Shannon and Vicki’s once-strong friendship began to unravel over allegations that Vicki’s controversial boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, was faking cancer. Of course, it later came to surface that Ayers fabricated medical documents though Vicki maintains she wasn’t aware that Brooks was being dishonest.
Just last year, Beador sat down with the Daily Dish and confessed that she had forgiven Gunvalson but didn’t want to continue their friendship.
“I mean, I have forgiven Vicki. There are so many people that say I have to move on and forgive. I have forgiven. But fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, and Vicki wasn’t truthful with me, and I feel as though I was used by her. And this was over a year. And, you know, I don’t want that in my life anymore. If someone is untruthful to the point that she was, I don’t want to be friends with that person. And I’m entitled to make that decision. I’m entitled to make the decision that I don’t want to be close to somebody.”
